Geez FT.... Does anyone ever just RUN away from you?! And my hubby would murder me if I exchanged numbers with a guy for ANY reason... Let alone go to his house!

Since we are having such warm weather... I'm thinking of doing a little work in the back pole shed to get the big temporary coop going. It will be silly to have three 6 wk old birds in the 10 x 10 space, but the weather is nice enough to make the move. Then I'm thinking of building a brooder box and putting the five 3 wks chicks out there too with their light. With 40 chicks coming here in various ways next week, I want to clear out existing chicks from my house. I love chicks... But want them OUTSIDE! My basement is starting to smell!

Btw...The big girls and boy get to roam around all day outside now. They seem to really enjoy it! I threw a big earth worm their way yesterday. I don't think they ate it, but they ran around stealing it from each other. Pretty funny stuff!

Oh Cindy... I don't like pies much... But if you make something with a graham cracker crust, I'll take it off your hands...

Tom, you just take it easy and enjoy your nap. I looooove naps!

And Doc... I'm sure you were enjoying your days of the 2 min drills every ten min... Slut!

Well, let's just put it this way !!!! When you don't get hitched until you are in your 40's you do what you want. My DH actually has no problem with my "friends" !
He knows first hand that I'm "all talk"

The man "Roger" with the draft horses already emailed me. He has Dekalb hens, Doms, GLW, Australorps and can't remember what else and some mixes. He butchered all of his roosters. I invited him on here and told him there was another old guy on here that butchers his chickens too . You know who you are !!!

Does it count that his wife was standing in the parking lot and chatting with us?
Does it count that that the guy at the feed store had his daughter there and she wants a bunny and I told her I would find her a bunny.
The guy covered her ears when I was talking about the piggys, he didn't want to have one of those on her wish list too !!!

Bigfam4m, does your DH know you talk to "other men" on here ????? Shame on you !!! I'm telling, as long as you are squealing on CC to her husband !!!

I know what you mean though, double standard here, I'd be furious, well in my younger days maybe if DH started making friends with woman he'd meet, but now, well now I'd just ask what kind of animals does she have ??? LOL

TO you should check your Fleet Farm down by you. They would be clearancing out the same stuff.
I also bought the 3 pack of Seven dust for $9 with the Carbaryl in it. That is the stuff right Bigz. I"m tired of finding those northern fowl mites on my silkies.

good morning,, 2 min. drill ?? I am sooo surprised that DrH can even remember that far back.. Having a good imagination helps..

I found one egg in the Del pen this QM.. I don't know if it was layed today or if I missed it from yesterday.. they are sure slow to start production.. on the upside,, they are getting nice and plump from that high octane feed.. I think I will hang the ax where they can see it..

Has anybody heard from Deb ? Deb, are you lurking ? all you lurkers, just give us a sign ..

I wish the ground frost would go away.. then maybe the mud would subside ..

No flowers poking through up here, yet.. However, my niece brought Annie a whole vase full of yellow Dafodile buds.. they opened overnight.. she is the principle at a local grade school and they had some kind of event with flowers..

I have to run to town for awhile.. I have the Granny watch tonight..B C N U then..

FT I said 2 min drill not 2 seconds! I always gave them the full 2 minutes! Bf4me yup your right never charged a dime! But usually ended up costing me a lot. Tomski glad to hear your coming around! Have a nice big pile of straw/poop in the backyard. Cleaned the appt. last. Heard a chick crying out in the yard went and looked and ended up laughing. First time on the grass. Very carefull steps Funn-knee

But Daddy saved her, she was glad to be in safe arms. Had to interupt my coop cleaning to put fresh straw in the nest boxes. Was reminded that there was none in there and there wouldn't be any eggs until there was! WOW Came in to get the hot clothes off now in my work clothes, sweats and moccosins for dragging down the mole hills. BACK TO WORK! Think I'd better take a beer with it's thirsty work!

Anyway, Fleet Farm also has the egg candlers which they never carried before. They are $14.89. Same price as most of the other mail order catalogs etc. Or close to it.

I might have to pick up another one. One for the basement and one for upstairs. Seems like whenever I need to use it it is in the wrong place.

Anyone going to the Beaver Dam swap this weekend? Think it is to far of a drive to just look.

Hey doc, don't cha wish you would have charged a dime each time? You could have built a nice coop with that money, provided you invested it for all of these years !!! LOL Wish I had !!!

Yep, it should be 5% sevin dust. The big bags are cheaper though. I simply mix it in their dusting holes for great results Frenchi....also we use the ham base for ham and bean soup...after removing the bone and adding the meat back in we taste and add accordingly....it will be the best you ever tasted!

I have been wondering where Deb is too.

I fear I may have to find homes for some of my large chickens.

My dog's medicine is costing a lot more etc. I am looking for good pet homes for a pair or trio of rocks.(blue, black, and barred) The blue and black ones have to stay together~2 years old. (Beauty and Lacy) Some blue wheaton Ameraucana hens and some EE hens. 9months old/a couple 1 1/2 yrs old. And 1 roo.

BBP what was that website that you were on that you can advertise around here? I need to screen the people to make sure they know they are pets.
