Bl4 you too noticed Jim's soft spot you know what a hard A he is!
Glad to hear of improvements! Geez you new people are hard to please, it's not all about you, it's all about ME!
Just over heard L telling her mother that I have another Berfday next week. Told her to tell her mom that after inspection that I now have to get my birthday suit taken in and pressed cause it's badly wrinkled and saggy in spots. HEY she thought it was funny! She's 80 something. Waffles turned out excellent have enough in the freezer for quite awhile. Got an inch and quarter of rain, going down in the crawlspace to check the sump before I need to use my new chest waders. Did all the dishes from the mess this morning but now eyeballin the rhubarb....crisp sounds really good. Cind forgot to ask if you wanted some various flowers or chives while you were here. Need/ want some? Anyone? They come with a free roo! Taters are comin up! We need some sun!
Aw so many sickie chickies too! How are yours doing Hens&Roos?
BBP, must be rather amazing to get to know a new horse! Hope he and your son make a love connection!
Rain all over the place here near east of Madison too! Digging up the water wings per BL. Rain all over the place means the kitchen ceiling is dripping again... greeeeaat. This is the year we can afford to re-roof, so if it'll hang on just a month or so longer....
Gosh yesterday was such a super fun day!
Terri came over and we didn't stop yammering for 4 hours...
That means we had fun
She declared our chicken tractor not a chicken tractor at all but a chicken Taj Mahal on wheels!
So I guess we did reasonably well! Will post pix when it's not raining all over the Chick Taj. Terri and Chloe, my girl, and I went stomping around in our woods and Terri squealed in glee every time she came across ... what mushrooms were those again Terri? No, not morels -couldn't find those elusive buggers. Noooooo not hallucinagens, people, put that out of your mind. We had a blast
And THEN, went over to Hens&Roos and they have our very first ever chickens for us!!!! Sweeeeeeet!!!!!!!! Such a lovely time hanging with Cheryl's clan. Her kids are so marvy. The occurrence that I think best sums up her youngest boy was all of us being distracted by a loud repeated noise. Turning around to find her youngest bashing his Tonka-esque truck with a wiffle bat.
Just because he's a boy. Boy=loud noise with dirt on it. Awesome
Chloe had a blast with the kids. And Cheryl's hubs, Doug, and my hubs, Ben, did some male bonding over a chunk of tractor or some such. Vive la difference! Love it!
Such lovely folks. Ben has a chance of wanting to come up to the Bash now! YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Muwah Muwah Muwah you guys!!!! I gave up all hope!
So we'll add the roost to the Chicken Taj and a few other details and hopefully pick up the four 2-3ish month old chickies tomorrow. Hope the rain abates!
I've been wondering about Tiki too. I know she likes to take "breaks" from the internet because its so addictive. Thanks for the horse comments. He has actually lost weight over the last year. He needs to be wormed. But he should be an easy keeper. The people that had him gave him a cheap 12% grain once in a while and grass hay. What he really needs is a good washing. He was just filthy yesterday. And I know they've never cleaned his sheath. Any volunteers? Maybe the vet will want to do it when she does the Coggins.
It wouldn't bother me to touch it. I just have never done it. I tried watching a video on youtube but it was taking forever to load. I imagine its pretty self explanatory, but I want to do a good job. And yes I have touched much worse.
Oh MX you fit right in here! {See I'm addressing new folk] Can't wait to meet ya! And all the new people. Please don't feel "left out" it's just that the thread grew real fast in a short period of time and it takes us ahwile to catch up. I got on here a complete rookie a few years back and was welcomed with open arms and have made some lifelong friends. It amazes me that so many on here have the time for raising/breeding birds. Jim, H&R, SF, MLH, TO, Bigz, fm, BCC, Tiki, FT, BL4, and so many others! You are all to be applauded for your efforts!
I'll never know what so many on here do! Now back to ME! hooked up a couple of hoses went down in the crawlspace plugged in the sump touched the float and VIOLA pumpin water! Almost like I had done that before.
PS; Amy don't think for minute that I didn't feel that "hook" about watching Cartman. It was aimed at me and I know it! "You shouldn't oughta dun that he's just a boy" Slingblade/ South Park. Kids and animals are my weakness and forte.
