OK... Now I can respond to people....
Apyl... that duckling is a darling! Can that type keep the mohawk?
unk....wow! Tomato Jungle! You sell all those? You must be doing something right!
DrH... Yep, you never know when that 10" 2x4 will come in handy or only 15" of fence to plug up a hole! Some people just don't get it! Yes, the coop needs cleaning, when doesn't a coop need cleaning! Last week I thought gee, mine needs cleaning....but it wasn't that long ago when it was cleaned! D@mn little dirty birds... got to learn to clean their own mess!
Glad you could use that beer... looked like a good choice to me! I like samplers... if you don't like one, no big loss, if you find one you like you may have a new fav.! In any case, it's a change of pace.
Twiz...Quote:
You know what people on here would say! Not enough chickens!!!
Stacy.... I have a cousin up in that neck of the woods too! She loves it!
Jim... Pie makes a right fine breakfast!
Your rhubarb patch wouldn't happen to be too big would it? Hint, hint
****Anyone have some plants to spare?
bl4... Sounds like they should be able to help your kitty.... sure hope so!
TO... I would love a mulberry or 2! I'll even trade you 2 roosters for 1
mxm...Any size chicken TV will be one of the coolest things you'll ever watch! The program may not change but there's always a new episode! Haven't seen a rerun yet! I bet your BP will go down a few points too!
Ken... that sucks! I would never offer to do anything for that teacher again! Let the kids in another class hatch some. And make sure it's clear what happens with the chicks and equipment after the hatch. Wonder if she treats everyone like that?
dyno....When they are real little if you feel the brooder is too big, put a piece of cardboard in and divide it. Take it out when they get bigger. 10" is not very high, in no time they will be able to go over it! A screen or wire cover should work. If the light seems too hot see if you can raise it higher. I clipped mine to a chair back once to get it higher. And yup, night is when it's coldest. If it's warm enough during the day you could turn it off. Like FT says, watch how the act.
Well, I gave Roadrunner a bath and looked her over. She looks like she went through a one sided chicken plucker! The wings seemed fine except for the tip on one side. I didn't see any rips or punctures. I think all that blood may have come from "blood feathers" in the wing tip. Wonder what happen? She's plucked on 1 side and bruised on the other. Another odd thing... the other (one or more) have been breaking and sometimes eating her eggs. She is the only one that lays true white eggs. I know chickens see color real well, but what do the have against white? My son's going to give me some golf balls, I'll see if that helps.
Guess that's it... spent way too much time typing tonight!
Night All!
