A minute later Jake gave him a run and ruined his dinner with "the girls"

Well the opposition pulled out the same tired arguments; rodents, nuisance calls, stink, who will enforce, etc...... they want this to be put to referendum...

when has THAT ever worked! They also showed up with their own petition of signatures from people who do not want chickens in town...... annoying. So there is a meeting on Monday of the City Council that I will have to go to. *Sigh* I do not need this headache right now......

Tried to get a few people to sign up on BYC too.

Due to a pending move, I have to get rid of my flock. I'd rather give them away free (no sales/rehoming fees) than trying to sell them. I have (5) unsexed pearl guineas about 2 months old, (6) white commercial broad breasted turkeys about 2 months old, (8) unsexed barred rock chickens about 2 months old, (5) unsexed, black/grey indian runner ducks about 3 months old. I prefer to give them all away as a group. Taking only hens/roosters, if you can sex them at this age, is not acceptable.

BL4, you mean to tell me Checkers had no effect on those cold-hearted poultry haters??

Sorry tiki, that's awful!

Yesterday I mailed my younger Jaerhon roo to a gal in CO. Got some looks and questions from people in line at the PO. He's scheduled to arrive tomorrow morning.

And today is Cartman's 2nd birthday! He added 'Hi' to his vocab this afternoon; slowly but surely.

Babylady, when our town was considering passing a chicken ordinance one of the arguments against it was that there would be large amounts of feathers floating through town when they molted. Some people are so stupid.

Dan Love the deer eating the chicki food LOL
Good evening everyone, have made some hard choices today as too what roos are staying for next year and who are going under the blade...........

I forgot to add: City Council members have spoken with farmers who have raised chickens and they said that chickens should NOT be raised in a city environment. I wish I knew which farmers they spoke with.....

There is another town that did pass an ordinance but the limit was 2 chickens and since they did not specify hens or roos or 2 per family or property etc they had to continue to re-word the ordinance at every meeting.... so they were concerned about the amount of time it was eating up on this so-called non-issue.

bl4- sorry to hear the news! Keep on trying.

I was looking at a friends FB page and noticed that she liked a chicken website that encourages backyard chickens. Hmmmmmmm

She homeschools and I may consider talking to her about my chicks, but first I want to get her opinion on why she liked the FB page.

Third of four soccer meetings planned for the week are complete. One more tomorrow to hand out the soccer bags to the coaches.

Dessert tonight was sauteed plantains sprinkled with cinnamon sugar and topped with vanilla ice cream.

night all
