Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

TO, you can replace the crust in that cheesecake with a GF shortbread cookie dough; just add the pecans to it.

I think a day spent in bed was good for me. I caught up on all my shows, and now I am watching DS9. Poor Worf......

Angie, I used to feel badly for the deer during hunting.... I am a big Bambi fan. I understood the need to thin the herd, but I did not like it...... that is until I hit one with my car. Nothing like driving down the road and having some 150+# four-legged critter jump out of nowhere and smack in front of your car. Idiots......

RumChata..... I have heard about this stuff. I am not big on sticky sweet drinks and I hear it tastes just like Cinnamon Toast Crunch. Perhaps somebody will have to bring some to the bash so we can all have a shot!

Back to the show.....

Deal-Next summers bash-Im bringing the rum chattaaatata!

I get the whole needing to thin out the deer to prevent car accidents, keep them healthy etc. And glad for the meat. However, dont like thinking about it, hearing the details of the hunt, or seeing dead things hanging in my garage. (so yes maybe I do like to pretend it all comes from the back room at the grocery store!-Let the bashing begin LOL)

good eve, did the Dr appt.. going to schedule 2 lazer surgeries within a couple of weeks..

came home and finished the side racks on the trailer.. threw a bale of straw in just to see how it fits.. looks like a go.. all the racks go on and off very easily.. I might have to invent some sort of hold down to keep them from jumping off when the trailer is empty.. any suggestions ? maybe springs ? yeah, that might be it.. thanks..

going up to eat a couple of tacos.. then off we go to play some cards..

Hi all! THANKS FOR THE RECIPE D!!!! And the suggestion BL4. I am planning on making it tomorrow--well, that or/qnd pumpkin spice cake that I found a recipe for today!

Dinner tonight was fried fish in cornmeal with tomatillo salsa, sweet potato fries, broccoli and ripe olives. MMMM--it was fantastic! I had to hold back a bit cause I only made 1 pound of fish for 4 of us...the kids each ate a LO chicken leg/thigh from last night too! I am finishing the salsa with some LO tortillas from the other night. MMM.

Went on a nice horse ride today. It was gorgeous outside for sure! We explored a woods and got into some sticky weeds that made her horse go nuts! Of course C was a perfect gentleman and didnt react in the least! What a good boy!

Sorry JJ to not get what you were typing! I do have that song in my head now though..manamana-bebebebebe--manamana--bebebebe. Yeah....I guess you have to hear the tune in your head....!

Ok watching a program on history...later! TerriOnowfull

Hi casie!
This will be my first time with chicks in the house. The DH is building a brooder down there. I am almost embarrassed by the notion of chickens in the house. He thinks its will be fun, so why not.

Ummmm... chickens in the house on this forum is SO normal! I had various chicks in my basement for months ths year. Starting up my flock and everything, caused chicks to be in my house from end of January through Jun! In fact, I have 14 chicks in mybasement right now. I'm waiting for them to feather out a bit more, then I'll be putting them in the brooder in The coop outside.

Haven't updated. Still processing. Don't have all the final info yet. I took Halden to the pediatric neurologist. She said he does have an Autism Spectrum disorder, most likely PDD NOS. She also said he has ADHD. The two go hand in hand very often. We have 3 more appts, all in one week, to see a neuro psychologist. That should give us a diagnosis and the type of plan for services. The Dr we already saw said Halden is an excellent candidate for an early intervention program.

But even when you suspect your child has something like this, it's not the same as finding out he does...

BigFam, doctors can be wrong..... but even if they are not, you are a powerhouse and I know you will be doing everything in your power to help him. If you need me to look anything up for you just ask..... I have access to the University (and I can get my mitts on all the current medical findings, journals, etc....). I believe my daughter's old pedes Neuro is down in Madison. Dr. Inglese. He was excellent for us.....

Joining the NYD hatch, too, if I can get eggs out of the ladies. Molt is zapping them, nothing today.

Blegh, 2 hrs sleep in the last 40 is making me punchy, heading to bed. Last night's sleep deprivation was a newfie with peritonitis, horribly abscessed retroperitoneal space, basically the whole right side of the abdomen surrounding the kidney and ureter, dog was trying to go into cardiovascular collapse, basically had to snatch and grab the kidney and surrounding tissues and get out asap while he was beginning to hemorrhage everywhere from collapse of the clitting cascade. Pumped plasma in, an amazing quantity of fluids to try to resuscitate him...so far, he's alive. Tonight was even aware of his surroundings, beginning to drink water, and could get himself up on his elbows from his side. Frankly he shouldn't have made it this far, hoping he will go on to survive and recover. Will need to go back after bladder stones and things that we didn't have time for, but sacrificed that for getting him off the table alive.

OK I'm rambling, trying to wind down to fall asleep.
Promise I'll be more coherent tomorrow.

Bigz, awww, you're sweet. You the bestest too.

Tom, about time you checked in. Sorry to hear about the attack. I have a beautiful lav orp roo that would just love to come home with you. I can drop him off by Frenchie this weekend.

Vicki, congrats on the Kindle & you can stop the picking at the butt feathers with a combo of repeated applications of the Blu-Kote and repeated verbal warnings to the perp. You have to spend a lot of time with them & actually catch them doing it, then scold them each time before it starts to sink in. Rose used to do that to Moose quite a bit & the dummy just stood there.

I have to chuckle now because every once in a while I can still see a hint f blue on his keester when he bends over.

But if you're consistant, it should stop. Cute lil egg, BTW. I had one just like that not long ago when my gold laced orps started laying. I just assumed it was from one of them.

Ghost, chin up, girl. That really sucks, but you gotta be strong for your man. You may be miserable, but he is too, and at least you are in the comfort of your home surrounded by your critters who love you. He doesn't have that luxury.

Delisha, thanks for sharing your recipe. It sounds delish!

My family dose not want chickens in the house
barnie.gif
This last year between ill chickens and chicks my family is done with chickens in the house. I have no basement to hide them in but the did have the spa room (hot tub is broke anyway) and it has a cement floor and an outside door. I didn't see a problem but I kept hearing "normal people" don't have chickens in the house.

What's the difference in having a chicken or a large bird like a parrot? Beauty?Price?

DrH.... Glad you got the toys!

Tom... Glad you popped in! Too bad you lost some birds. I have a funny feeling someone around here could find you a nice roo replacement.

vicki...congrats on the new "toy"! Don't yea just heat to crack open those tiny eggs?

TO.... Glad this ride went much better!

Hurley... sounds like a rough day. Hope the dog makes it.

I guess we aren't having company for Thanksgiving and the older kids are going to their dad's. That just leaves me, hubby and young son. Guess we get lots of left overs! I planed for 8!

Guess that's it.... Night!
