Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Judi, I didn't even realize you were the one who posted this! I know a wildlife rehabber that would take it off your hands. You may have to pry the break open a little with your nail and shove some in there at first. After all, it has no idea what you are trying to do to it.

Jim I would hand broadcast that millet use a whirly-gig spreader,,,rake it in,,,water the area if possible every couple of days to get it germinated,,,,think "grass/lawn". I just read it likes wet spots,,,,maybe down at the bottom of the old garden?
How much does a quart of millet seed weigh? (not counting the jar) the article says 15-20lbs per acre

then again,,,IF the DD planted raspberries there she might not need the bird attractant. Call that place that sells the seed?

I had that happen once. Now I always feed my chicks medicated feed. Do you want me to put some Hershey eggs in the incubator for you?

Ang, good luck with the little birdie. I hope it makes it. BBP, thanks for posting the bird food recipe. It is good to know, but I hope I never need to use it.

Such a beautiful day. I was hoping to get some weeding done, but at 11AM, DH comes home with a tooth/nerve dying so I had to make him an emergency appt. Luckily they could see him right away. Didn't want to have to listen to that all day.

So after lunch, some loads of laundry and the chicken chores, I decide to shuffle some birds around. Sounds easy, right? Oh, he-ll no! I didn't get finished with that project til almost 9pm.

Hi all--still sick. I sure hope it is gone tomorrow! The kids were here until 6:30. They cried when their Dad came because we had just started to make the GF strawberry/rhubarb crumble! I assured them that I would save some for them for tomorrow. OMG--whoever suggested that recipe...it was delicious! THANKYOU! I think I will make more tomorrow!

So glad to hear some peoples chickens are getting better and sad to hear that others are now sick! It never ends. I had a sad sight today too...the ducklings that hatched yesterday (4) were all drowned from the rain last night. I had put a doghouse next to the mama duck and the babies but apparently she left and they just stayed where they were...it was a very sad sight indeed. Everything else weathered the storm OK.

I have to go to bed...DH got home today, kind of scared me when he walked in because I wasnt expecting him until tomorrow!
OK--good night! TerriOsnifflingandsore

Feel better SOON!! So sorry about your ducklings!! It's probably been on here and I missed it, but will you share the recipe again, please?
