Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

All in all it turned out to be a nice day. Drove the RV back to Milwaukee and since we were so close to IL I called my cousin before we left and asked her if she would like to meet for lunch; so we met up at this cute little place called Ferche's. My mom would love this place, they still make old fashioned ice cream sodas and they also make phosphates! We had a great lunch and wonderful conversation! It was so nice to see family! Stopped at Cabella's on the way home and DH managed to find some of the ammo he has been hunting for.

Today is my niece's 10th birthday so we ended the day with cake and a mini birthday get-together with family and friends. Not too shabby!

Unfortunately I have to go back to the job tomorrow......... bummer.

Wow, busy day around here. I just got settled in after going to the laundry mat in Rhinelander, got home at 2am.. there dryers took forever. Now got to hit the hay so I can be back in Rhinelander at 10am for the spay clinic. Plus I need to wash 4 doz eggs in the morning...
ET was being a jerk today. Thought maybe he's be nice enough to wash the eggs while I was gone... no such luck, he was sound asleep and didn't even feed the horses !!!!!! Need I say more???? Wasn't a good day all around...

Anyway, Jimbo, glad you got your BC's. Did your's come with two plants per cell? Then you'd have 32 plants too !!!

Good luck with the little birdie Judy and BBP with the baby goose.

TO hope you're feeling better... sorry to hear about the little ducks. I lost one of my snowy mallard ducklings today. I think because they make such a mess and their food gets caked on them they didn't have fluffy down to keep them warm enough ? Just my thought.

I have had Cocci and lost chicks to it in the past when I was feeding medicated feed plus they had never touched the ground when they got it. But now since I've been giving them warm water they seem to be doing great on non medicated food. So if it works don't fix it right...

Ok sleeping pill is starting to kick in... I'm bushed...cheated on diet again today.... I'm a stress eater, can you tell ??? LOL

Hi All!

Kristi.... The idea of the wire cage for the Broody is to cool her down. Maybe if you have some cold packs you could make her stay on them in the kennel.

BigFam.... wow... sorry about your birds.

Fading faster than I thought....

Good luck with the "found birds"!

Young son got more fish today. Where he goes is rather secluded and I think the various "sunfish" family type fish are interbreeding, weird coloring on them. Wonderfully clean water though!
Chickens and chicks seem to be doing well..... Night All.

Cindy...perfect...thanks for the idea!

Hope everyone ha a great day and today is the day chicks stop getting sick and the money tree is located!!!

Judi, she is located in the Frederic/Clam Falls area. But she works for the Sherriff's Dept. And is down here all the time. She may be able to pick up.
Sad news, I just noticed this morning that the little gosling has maggots in his umbilical area. Hopefully I'm helping him with it soon enough. The little guy can only be a couple of days old. They sure work fast destroying and consuming tissue.

BBP, that thing must be loaded with maggots if they are consuming healthy tissues.Found a link on BYC for you.

Off to work in a few..... I apologize for not posting pictures yet. I have 3000 to go through and kids are constantly on the desktop so I have been unable to get the pics uploaded. I will try to get them on this weekend sometime.

Watched 'In and Out' last night with the older kids.... I cannot believe that movie was made in 1997..... still funny!

I always thought that maggots ate only dead tissue.. that is why they were used to clean wounds on the battle fields long ago..

I'm dreading going out to the coop.

This has also stalled my plans of moving my basement birds to the shed. All the birds have access to the shed and could expose these birds. So the stinky duckies are stuck in the basement longer. And George the goose and my 2 buff orp pullets and buff ROO and mystery chick. Jim any idea what mystery chick might be?

Gotta get the boy food, therapy at 9. Then coop check :(
