I did pick up a pair of calls this weekend. Definitely overpaid for the drake. I'll post pictures later today.
Either my chickens were wasting a lot of their crumbles and mash or they just don't like pellets. I bought pellets and they really haven't been going through them very fast.

What actually is he going to use it for ? You don't have horses do you ?   That would work so well for horsey $hit !!!! I really really really need that tractor..... My favorite colors too !!!

Wisconsin bow hunter got this guy. Cabala's paid him $13,000 for the head and hide. According to the posting, this type of deer is even more rare than and albino.

wow..very pretty buck..too bad it is dead.(I do believe in killing and eating deer). it would be nice to have a few more running around.

Due to the uniqueness of the coat, I would prefer that deer with coats patterned in such a way were not legal to shoot. Very beautiful, a pity it was killed and now will be stuffed and put on display.

I have not seen the white deer along 45 since this spring. I keep looking every time I drive through that way though.

No (mini horses were sold off by the girls a couple years ago)....just the chickens. He plans on using it for clearing his trails in the woods, hauling in trees when cutting down for firewood, tilling up his hugantic garden, and he is now planning on planting timothy hay in the fields we usually rent out to local farmers. he figures he can pay the tractor off in a few years harvesting hay. We have another open field area he may also plant. And I dont think he has named it yet LOL

BBP: I do believe you are right! LOL He started thinking about how he is renting out his field and not receiving any tax break and thought-why not get the tax breaks (which he has to still research), get to play with his toy, and make some money doing it. Also its just another way to justify getting it!

Only have one question....... or maybe two.... is it legal to shoot one this color ??? Must be. I thought shooting albinos is illegal ?????
Now for the big question. If it is so rare WHY IN THE H3LL would you shoot it ???? I would love to have some paint deer running around my farm!!! I know the answer.... If you don't someone else will !!! There ya go.... all about the money !!!!

Oh and Unk, and anyone else interested. The amish farm did have stacks of plastic egg crates. I didn't ask so I'm assuming that maybe they sell eggs that way to the bigger customers that might repack them with their own cartons ?

Brrrr..

Cold cold out this morning. The chicks did not want to venture out yet. My broody is hatching soon. I heard a cheep under her.

She has gold laced eggs and two of baby's eggs. Baby is getting pretty old and I think I need to keep one of her girls. She is a small bird who lays huge eggs.

CC do you want a gold laced male? I forgot and thought you might have mentioned it.

Del, I would love one, but I have so darn many roos right now.

CC... I changed my Hershey baby name. I'm hoping desperately its a girl. It's name is now Hershey Squirt.

That buck was no fawn. If he was able to pass on his genetics, it will show up again.

I was looking out our kitchen window a little while ago and just thought out loud, "that young white pine next to the run is starting to block the view of the field". Minutes later, bzzzzzzz, crunch!!!
NEVER make that kind of statement around a "puttering" man with a chainsaw!
