Besides, the Columbian pattern isn't quite right on these guys. There are three that are correctly marked, two that are going to be under-marked (not enough black in the tail and hackles), and one that has black chipmunk stripes on the yellow down, which I wouldn't mind keeping just to see how that feathers out, but... I have NO time anymore.

There's a chance their daddy was this guy (pure Cochin, definitely has the partial Columbian pattern, but the base has splotches of brown...)

No I need to play it "safe" and only take 3, I could come up thursday afternoon or sunday. I am photographing a parade for our local horse club on saturday.
Uh.. time to buy more chick starter LOL and wash out the chick feeder and waterer.. LOL

Good morning everyone! Man it is chilly AND windy here today...the cold is OK (after all it IS the end of November) but I sure could do without that wind--not a fan!

I made a funny and didnt even realize until I reread!
Annarie--you sure have some nice birds and I am so tempted...but already have WAY too many to feed over the winter! One of my best roos (buff orpington) was hanging by his spur in the bachelor pad yesterday...I am hoping that he will be OK. His leg was back but didnt seem to be dislocated...another separate pen...story of my life! I know what you mean about not being around--stuff just "seems to happen" while the master is away. I hope your situation improves.

So today is back to work day for me after the Thanksgiving holiday...not looking forward to it at all! I already got calls last night with folks crabbing at me! With that wind roaring outside I think I would rather go back to bed and snuggle under the covers.
Well, I suppose I'd better get to it--stuff sure doesnt get done on it's own (and I dont have a 10 year old to help me!) Have a fantastic day--dont get blown off the road! Terri O

Stupid computers. Mine crashed and now I'm coming to you from my moms laptop that I borrowed. shes got my puter and im hoping the hard drive didnt crash that would suck! the computer crashed after the furnace died and NOW my kids are sick with what seems to be a one hour flu?! so thats 3 bad things? furnace is fixed, final bill $174, part that needed fixing, $13. arg! $13 for the part and $161 for knowing where to tinker?! LOL!

so My DH is home again today due to the crapy weather. hes gonna put up a HIGH roosting post today for those silly birds, how much you want to bet me that those duck figure on how to get up there? LOL with the ducks hogging the roosts we needed more pole.
OH and guess what I found yesterday? we noticed the other day that some of the hens where going into the garage, in there we found 5 eggs. then yesterday I decided to venture to a danger spot in our sheds to see where these other hens are going and in one spot I found another 5 some broken some not but all were frozen. THEN in another spot I found 20

eggs! 17 were frozen. yes I fried them all up and feed them to the chickens. I messed up the area so howfully they lay in the coop. I'll watch them. soon I'm gonna lock them ALL in. naughty chickens. any ways gotta run. later

Sounds like you had a great Tday. Too bad about the wall hanger! I did that turkey hunting one spring I feel for ya! That "click" is sooo loud! But ya gotta laugh at yourself. Seems I'm not as fast at cutting deer as I used to be. But BFF likes the way I do it, no meat wasted! We had a great time laughing and drinking beer while we worked. Played the member that game. Had a ball! He remembers things I don't and visa versa. The stories get better with age, what a couple of liars! Looks like a good inside day. Got the chickens taken care and paperwork done. Have more to do. Enjoy your day!

Crappy Weather Afternoon All.... Good to hear that I'm not the only one with a junky puter raimnel. I was gonna post the other night and just about finished what I was typing, and then swoooosh....gone. I shut the stupid thing off and called er a day.
Doc, it's good to hear you had a chance to the swing the knife in your favor, while having a good time. It is amazing how much stuff has appeared and left again, eh!
Congrats Grampa from here Too! The ones that get away will be bigger next year. Only one sighted is a tough sit for sure!
Nice this mornin early, so i let the fire die. Sure feels good now though that I have it goin good.
