Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Thanks for the tips. We are setting eggs in a few days. Son had a wrestling tournament today in Marshall and got second in his weight class. He has been working so hard..it is great to see him do we'll since he is a first grader going against first and second graders.

For some reason my birds decide that laying today was optional. Hope that is temporary since they had been doing so,well. I really need it to warm up, the coop has frozen poop in there that I can't get out and it needs to be cleaned. Bad!

Ok time to get the kids bathed and movie on! Have a good evening

Oh was also, nice to visit with Cheryl for a little bit! Thanks again!

Wow its quiet on here tonight,,, so I ve got a question,, I remember reading on here a long while ago about easter eggers,,,, My daughter has an E.Egger that lays pink eggs.. How do keep that color in our next generation of hens? She does not have a rooster to match, so what is the best way to keep that awsome color? any thoughts thanks Zeke Good morning to you all

Hi All!

Nothing much to report, some of the birds managed to venture out today

a few even stayed out for awhile when it was snowing!
They sure seem to go through allot of water. Maybe that's good, maybe that means the coop is staying dry.

Night All!

, sun is shinning here- looks nice outside.

Well our 2nd hatch ended with 10 chicks hatching- we had a slow one who just hatched out this morning. We had a lot of clear eggs or some that started and quit along the way. Thinking that the roosters definitely have their favorite hens! Probably start collecting eggs and run a 3rd hatch- hopefully that will give DD enough chicks to pick from.

Hope the eggs work out for you DD, Kristip! Glad to hear that your DS did great too!

Well out to finish some chicken chores.

nothing..the bird is dead..
the green could be from food it ate and aspirated on death. If your flock is fine..don't worry.
No way i'm reading 278 posts.
