They were 2x14 home made rafters. I used them because the pitch was so low to bare the extra weight. I guess they weren't strong enough. I still haven't gone out to access it all but son said the snapped in the middle. If I do get I insurance for it I'm definitely not building the same type of roof. And like you Jim will have a steaper peak. My barn roof is same style just steamer but my attached tack shed I'm quite worried about now as its about same pitch as the pole shed was. I found some insurance papers that said $5000 for the implement shed and $5000 contents on shed barn and tack shed. Is thatit per claim orgoes one time? Im annot idiot when it comes to this as I said earlier I have never filed a claim in my life. I also have a mortgage that says on my insurance papers that any claim goes to that which will really suck because those buildings weren't part of the mortgage. Also worried about my premiums going up, im already paying nearly $1000 a year and if my whole entire place were to wipe out only 72,500 for buildings and contents.
