Holy Hurricane New Year Everyone!
We sit on a hill, so get some wind here anyway, but man o man is it whipping out there right now. Froze my patookus off watering and feeding the chooks this morning. (And boy did I get chewed out for the heated water bucket getting knocked over and there being no water this am.) Bucket is full of nice warm water for their bellies and they're standing at 45 degrees into the wind to stay upright while exploring their newly exposed run since the snow melted. Poor kids. They thought yesterday that winter was over. Surprise!
Gave them some BOSS, oats, and corn for a treat and refilled their feeder. Should be set for the day.
The boys are all sleeping in. Baby boy 1 and 2 were up to just past midnight last night (had late naps and so were bright eyed for the new year). The 5 month old sleeps with mommy, the 20 month old thought the new year deserved a slumber party, so the bed slept 4 last night. LOL Mommy got to be the human barrier between the boys to be sure Tye Tye didn't get squenched, but it was awfully nice to wake up to two baby boy heads snuggled in to mommy.
Not too much change on the hatching front. My pip from last night (pipped right before midnight) remains unchanged this am. I still hear peeping from the incubator, but not sure which egg is singing. There is another pip this morning. I hope the 1st little one is still with us. How long is too long from pip to zip?
