Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

No I cannot have chickens. The birds I will be getting are for the people who have the chickens from my first incubation. They only have 3 left so they asked me to find some nice older ones before fall, and ones that had been handled a lot so they were friendly. I figured the Portage show was the place to go.

Hi All!

Sclark...Congrats to the kids! Guess that roo wasn't so bad. LOL

wyo.... I like to leave 1 layer of husk on when I grill corn, I think it gives a better flavor and who cares if that burns.

H&R... congrats on the chicks... hope they all made it!

Jim.... I know what you mean about the grass! We also had the issue of mowers breaking down so it was even longer than it should have been between mows.

wild.... Has his dad talked to "the brat" about his behavior?

Bl4... So sorry about your old cat. I dread the day when it's Natas's time, it was hard when Spirit went.

I'm trying not to worry about Jon, though it looks like the worse of the hurricanes won't hit where he is.

That's it, Night All!

I'm planning on Portage this year. Hoping to meet up with a breeder to get a pair of good Brahmas.
This will be my first time and I'm trying to decide if I want to book a room or camp. I'm thinking the money I save on a room could go for more birds! Anyone here ever camp out at this show?

I will be at the Portage show this year getting cast-offs from the breeders.

Sad day today, we took our sick geriatric kitty to be put down. Actually my almost 19 yr old DD did. This was her cat so this was really tough for her. I give her a lot of credit, I have not been able to sit through that with my own animals yet.

So anyway, that's about it for now. H&R, I have 18 tomato plants going and I am pretty certain CC will have a bunch she would relinquish.......

So to hear about the kitty

it is never easy no matter how long they are with us.

Huntress: This will be my first time attending this show also. I maaayyyy look for some Salmon Faverolles pullets....(I need more chickens like I need another hole in my head)

I know what you mean. I let slip last night to my boyfriend that I was getting another pair of Brahmas. In 'that' tone I got..."Don't you have enough birds!?" Some people just don't get it.

So are you close enough to come for the day or are you staying over?
