Winter afternoon to everyone.....busy working on the wood pile. Next year I won't be cutting wood with the snow and ice on it...I'll be caught up a year ahead by then. Being lazy comes to bite you in the ice and snow.

Time to relax after a honest day of work. Venzun meat pie with hash browns and buttered beets for supper.....the meat pie is tasty with cheddar cheese on top. Gotta love the best red meat one can eat!

Still working on the rats....talked to a guy at fleet today....they are a big problem for sure......the recipe you gave me delish sounds like it would work...but....they don't touch it. Been buying all the brands available....the only one they eat here is the D-Con for rats....now if it kills...that's another story to tell.... we will see.

Hey all!
12's again. Done at 7 then some errands. Hopefully I will habe enough $ for xmas!
So weird. I only have 3 hens in the main coop. One Sumatra with a brood. They lY white medium eggs. Then we have Easter. She is 2years and lays the ocassional green egg. And then we have Angel. She is almost 3 and never really lays. Well, the other day we got a brown egg. I assumed Angels. Well then the next day there was two large brown eggs!!! I think hubby is playing tricks on me.nnothing else can explain this. I suppose I am just happy to get any eggs! The girls are slow for sure. Sadly we had to buy eggs!

Omg, I promised to get some cat food donations from one of my pet food reps for a Trap, Neuter release program in need. They sent me 3 pallets of food! It was like 400 4# bags. Lol

Cuties--strange for sure...maybe you have a miracle hen that lays 2 eggs in one day? (a great feat for a 3 year old for sure) Is Scott that clever? LOL! I got a very interesting pullet egg today...those birds dont seem like they are old enough to lay...but it was pale brown, about the size of a pigeon egg. The littles in that pen are supposed to be 2nd gen OE's and one Cuckoo Marans? Weird stuff happening in our coops!

Did a home visit for the rescue I work with tonight--great folks...I meet with her friend around the corner tomorrow. They want to adopt litter mates! How fun!

Terri, Kildare was saying that one of OE second generation was laying a brown egg from me! Did you breed your f1 girls back to Marans? That is what I did. I hope those people check out good! It is rare to find somebody that wants two!
Cind, I hope I don't have any hiding. They should all be in the breeder pen! Lol we don't even open the chicken door right now. They refuse to come out anyway. So just text he ducks and turkeys are getting out atm. The duck coop has been moved to the outhouse! Because they make such a mess with the water. This way the big coop is not such a mess
