Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

I got Anellias walls almost finished yesterday along with cutting down a cabinet to fit between the stove and fridge. Also got the pantry up and adding on the side a broom closet. Brought Anellia in lastngiht to check out her bedroom and the nabbed the hammer and made a fast dash to the livingroom to pound on the walls. At least she's observant enough to know what the hammer was for. She's such a card.

.good Sunday evening,

cleaned up a little more outside,,
took Ollie and moved the work bench to a nice grassy spot so I can take pictures for Craig's List ad.

I also have two hydraulic cylinders to take pictures of..

I am thinking I might clear out enough room in the garage to put Ollie in for the winter.
Then when it is time to plow snow, I won't have to sweep Ollie off ..

the brown pullet is officially gone,, all we have left are the 6 black production pullets..
I counted only 5 guineas this afternoon. there used to be 6 ..

guess since there is no one to talk to here, I will go watch some football..

Lazy day, no Packer football... Wonder if feral pig tastes as good as farm raised? Pork is my favorite. Went to visit my cousin, she has sheep and was funny to see our little white dog surrounded by her sheep, think they thought he was a new lamb. He sure enjoyed the strange looking new dogs. Alas thinking a first snow fall can not be far away.... Garden is cleaned up, think next year we are doing parsnips. Made a stew with sweet potatoes, parsnips, turnips, carrots and mushroom.... so good, always have good success with recipes in Taste of Home...Wonder why root veggies are so under valued?

I'm with on the wild hpg tasting now we just need a hog to taste
wink.png
lol
when I was stationed in Germany I ate lots of wild boar.. the meat was not pale like farm raised hogs. it was quite dark red .. and delish.. the gasthaus owner was a hunter.. they were allowed to sell the meat as meals ..

i imagine a ferrel hog would be quite lean and maybe taste a little differently that a farm raised one.
when Brent shoots that one hanging around his camera, maybe we can talk him into a pig roast ..

I'm up for it and it would give the cheeseheads members an excuse to all meet :) and trade hatching eggs hahahahah okay I have a problem lol I admit that... Isn't that the first step? Okay well at least we could eat pork

Started the fall harvest on the mushroom logs. Shiitake are pretty darn good. Largest one was 7.5 inches across. They sure smell bad when they are wet but the are soooo yummy. I dry the stems and put them through a coffee grinder then add a scoop to the jars of venison when I can them. Also yummy in stew.

Hi All!

Daethen... that's a good idea for the stems. I bet by the time they are canned they are soft but not mushy and add some flavor.

Night All.
