all cuppa'd up.

I will be cutting up two rib cages in a few minutes

.egg production was 10 yesterday.

Nice late November weather again today....yep, I use furring strips to keep the plastic in place. The heavy clear plastic gets re-used year after year...prolly 10 years or older and keeps on ticking.

I moved my old 83 olds to the pole barn and pulled the battery today in her. It's never been driven in the winter and looks like new. I think it has like 80,000 miles on it.

Nice Packer win Monday night! Hope we can keep them coming now.

I ended up using lath as I knew I could just snap it to size. Doesn't look to shabby but we will see how the 4 mil poly holds up for the winter. I am not betting on multiple ones but you never know. Headed over to a friends in a bit, they are going to butcher a steer and I have never seen that. Figure if I can't watch it, I have no business eating it. We will see how it goes.

one down, one to go.
besides a nice package of ribs, I trimmed off enough lean meat to grind about 3 pounds of hamburger.

now on to the second rib cage and see how that turns out.

just for the heII of it, I said "what ?" go Irene as she walked through the kitchen. She said, "I didn't say anything"
I said, "Oh, I thought you asked if you could help me."
She said, "No, I am not good with dead animals ."

she's a veggie.. I was just having some fun at her expense.

good evening,

two rib cages all cut into 2" pieces.
got 5# off of the big deer
4 1/2# off of the small deer.
ground up 10 pounds of hamburger ..

ground up 8# of dog food.

all in the freezer and the mess is all cleaned up

.got 19 1/2 pounds of free meat .

would have got more if people didn't use a cannon for hunting.

no big plans for today,

if it doesn't rain, I might take a couple of wheelbarrows of do-do out of the chicken coop.
I have to get that coop cleaned before everything freezes.

ALMOST DONE WITH THE BUTCHERING!!!!!! I can't wait for it to be over. Did not think I would get this swamped this year. Now on to the canning. Hubby has been sick and pretty much sleeping for a week. Laters.

Annie dug out my winter shoes for me today.
I never know where she stores things.
they are shoes inside of low-boy buckles boots.
easy on, easy off..

all I did today was haul an old mattress to the burn pile and a load of scrap wood, too..
