Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

I know I am a little slow on adding this forum to my bookmarks. Still have not figured the darn thing out. When I put the Forum name as filter, says it can't be found and same thing when I copy and paste the actual forum. I have been saving a message in my email to find the page. Any suggestions on what I might be doing wrong?
I haven’t used the “bookmark” part.

I haven't used the bookmark either, sorry I can't help.
Batten down the hatches and break a fresh bale of straw for the chooks.....sounds like we are in for a dang cold stretch!
Sure am glad we only have 24 days of Feb left to go.

Stay Safe.... bigz

Welcome to the cheeseheads Jess. I don't have ducks, but would keep them inside for sure. You don't want them freezing their feet. I know friends that had that happen to their ducks. Better to be safe and safeguard their health.
Not fit for man nor beast out there this week.

Stay Safe.... bigz

I have ducks and let them outside. They have the choice to go outside or hang out inside their house. No issues with their feet as I figure they are smart enough to figure out that it’s cold and they should tuck those babies up. They come out to eat and drink when they want. I am in the SE corner of the state so a bit ‘warmer’ than where you are though.....

If anyone on here is thinking of doing meat birds, get your orders in. It is assumed we will have the same type of chick shortages as we did last year.... I just placed my orders for the summer.

Hello again from Michigan!
We ordered birds on New Year's day, from Cackle, and the first available shipping date for all the breeds we ordered was April 14th. Recently I looked again, and the Chanties were sold out, according to the website.
Order soon! It's looking a lot like last year, when we couldn't get more birds that we wanted by mid-spring.
Mary

Have to share..... this guy keeps showing up for the duck food: not the dish of corn three feet away....

Brrr! I ended up putting my pair of African geese in the garage for the foreseeable future since nighttime temps are negative teens and twenties with bad winds. Currently I have three rabbits, the geese, and my rooster in there since the hens were pecking his poor frostbitten comb bloody. I have no experience in raising animals so it’s all a learning experience! Hope everyone is staying warm.

I found a dead hen in the bottom nest box this morning. They all looked fine yesterday. However, I just put 7 4-month old birds (7 pullets 1 rooster) in with the 5 laying hens the day before ... Maybe the stress of integration with the cold weather was too much.
She was only 2 years old, but I knew one of the hens was having problems and laying eggs with blood on them.

I am so sorry.
