Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

good morning, these mornings seem to just fly by with that hour missing from them.
we had about an inch of snow last night.
Not much happening here. I am not going to go for a walk today. I overdid it on Sunday and my hips are a bit tender.

There is so much BS out there on this virus it disgusts me. Once the science was tossed out the window and it became a political tool to frighten people into submission, all bets were off.

Vaccines give you immunity. Yes you can still get the illness but it will not be the killer bug. Studies out of Israel indicate that the Pfizer vaccine prevents 94% asymptomatic transmission (carrier) and 97% protected from secondary infection (get it again). So if you are vaccinated you are pretty much bulletproof. Guess what: your immune system will also give you immunity if you have had the illness as well. Studies show people still have active immunity over 8 months after they have recovered (this timeframe has probably changed, as this study was published in January). Reinfection rates are extremely low.

The death rates are wildly overblown to keep people terrified. The majority of the population has a greater than 99% chance of surviving this. We are NOT dealing with the same situation as we were a year ago.

These vaccines are not FDA approved; get them at your own risk.

You might feel like you are 99% safe from infection or serious illness, but most/ many of us aren't so invincible. And the vaccines are really good!

Not what was said by @babylady4
What was said was this "The majority of the population has a greater than 99% chance of surviving this".

I believe there are a lot of people out there that have had Covid-19 and never even had a clue that they had it. Where I am, you have to have a Dr. prescribe a covid test for you to go in and get tested to see if you have it, and my doctor won't do it unless you are going to be admitted to the hospital for something.

I have read because you get 1 variant of covid 19 does mean your immune to other variants.
The vaccine of course should help with ones owns anti bodies.
I have to agree there is alot of bad information, but then alot of good. Just try to sort it all out.
The new B 1.1.7. variant is suppose to be the new dominate strain.
within USA within a month or 2.
States relaxing restrictions, spring coming, spring break parties in the south. See now if there is another surge.
I will wear a mask stay away from gatherings. Maybe I will get vaccine by June the way things are going.

So I have my sweet corn seed ordered
5 lb Nirvana
4lb Honey Select ordered + 1.5 pound on hand from last year
1 LB Sweetie 82
Sweetie 82 will be a test run this year

Then ordered some bunching onion seed and sugar snap peas and little bit of other stuff for wife.

eggs in the incubator coming along, some of the air cells are small. Hope I can rectify this before day 18. Guess if not goto plan B. Not sure what plan B will be yet. Keep researching.
Just started new batch of eggs in other incubator.

Glad to hear I won't be outcasted for not getting the vaccine and able to go to the bash!! Definitely not worried about reinfection!!
Our Chicks are growing up quickly as they tend to do. They are about 75% feathered out and I'm hoping to get them outside this weekend to scratch around in the pen for a bit while it's "warmer". I gave them their FF right from the start, but they had their first cabbage, oatmeal and raisin combo yesterday. They looked at it sideways as they tend to do but eventually ate it all up. Theo is really anxious (seriously) about the chicks. He hears them but can't see them and wants me to check on them. :jumpy
Seeds are set to arrive today or tomorrow but most of them won't see dirt until May.
Jim- take it easy my friend! You've gotta heal in between strengthening.

good saturday morning, supposed to feel like spring today. I have things to do. going to play it by ear. might end up not doing anything. will blame it on spring fever.
finished with PT on wednesday. to celebrate graduation, I gave each of the coaches a bottle of blackberry wine.
That is a lot of sweet corn seed. do you have a roadside produce stand ?
our favorite corn is Serendipity . we get it from Jungs. all we plant is the 1000 seed packet. enough for us and the daughters. we freeze about 50 pints for ourselves.
