Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Leaf blower won't move it here, snowblower has a hard time with it. :he
It won't work here either, too wet although it's 28F.

I think we're to about 8" now and the wind just started. I saw some areas could get over 15" but where we are it should just be a foot.

I kept our chickens to the coop/kennel so not having to worry about counting heads tonight. ☺️

We are at about 10 to12" and still snowing.

I'd say it's about the same here, and of course, it's still snowing. The leaf blower only worked this morning until a little after lunch. And then it didn't. But It got rid of quite a few inches of fluffy snow.
I didn't do any plowing yet I'll do that tomorrow

I just saw my phone light up. A winter storm warning again for Friday morning 6 a.m. starts some more. Says 6-9" for here in Shawano County. I'm not letting them out in the morning as I don't want my ditzy silkies getting stuck in the snow again.
We had a blizzard warning up here as well. Turned out to be high winds, very little snow. Complete reverse of last winter, where we had 100”.

Now with these frogid temps, the girls are in the run, and not happy about it.

I should have just brought the chicks in. There are only 3 silkies that are 11 weeks old in a temp pen and hutch but these below-zero temps aren't changing for a week. They've been stuck inside the 3'x3' hutch that has a cozy coop heater in the back of it. We've hauled a gallon jug of hot water out there every hour to sit next to a dish of water in the hutch so it wouldn't freeze so fast. That got old fast. Hubby built a "porch" to set over the pavers that are stairs to the hutch and hung a heat lamp from it. The hope is it will heat the pavers a bit so they'll be able to come out, see their heated waterer, be able to run over to get a drink, and run back. I guess we'll see in the morning how that works.

This is sure a lot of dinking around for 3 little chicks but oh, they're so adorable. :)

I hauled water out every 1- 2 hours here. Gave the girls some oatmeal this morning but it froze to quickly
You guys go to great lengths. Your chicks are lucky to have you to take care of them.
I'm lazier, My hen house has a five gallon waterer sitting on a heated base and food hanging in the middle of the coop. Around noon I mixed up a cup each of oatmeal, black sunflower seeds and scratch in 2 cups of water threw in the microwave. Heated it up, let it cool down and put it out in the run for them. The sunflower seeds were still frozen when I took the scrambled eggs, including the shells and scratch out there for them this afternoon. So I won't put those in again.
So you think they're spoiled huh?
