Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

I called Sweet Folly about half an hour ago, we had gone to the store and got milk for my friend Joan, delivered it, and saw a tornado warning for the baraboo area.
I got her DSO (sig other)and he had no clue that there were T warnings for their area. Glad I called.

Bea the young lady who got the salmon favorelles, came to see them and the chickies at the barn. She may come out next week, and liked our set up.
I found a little something to create a summer coop with so am picking it up tomorrow or tues depending on the weather, i will do pics.!

Stay safe and all that good stuff.
Carol

I'll read and try to address all the posts later. We got heavy rail with hail and a little wind. Bryan lost some shingles and his boat shelter. We both got off off easy. A couple of ambulances have gone by on their way to Marshfield hospital. From what the news said the campground that I had suggested for the Bash is gone. The guy who raises my meat birds house is gone. They just stuck a big pile of money in it. I'll go there tomorrow and see if there's anything I can do to help. They live about 4 miles south of us. So far everyone I know is OK

Boy Dr.H, that just plain sucks. Let us know how everyone is doing......

We saw the tornado warnings and jumped into the car since the storm was headed straight for my in-laws house. Ran into rain and that was about it! My SIL did manage to see one of the tornadoes cross I-39 (she was driving home from Madison...).

Ok, not much else to say. Kids brought a bunch of crawlers home and fed them to the ducks!

DrH happy to here your ok, hope all your friends are too. We got rain but nothing big here.
My Jungle Rooster has been a pain in the a$$ to the girls
somad.gif
so he's camping away from them for awhile. We will see if he has a change of heart after a few days away. Any thoughts on this? He was keeping them in the coop and at bed time they all piled in a corner to hide from him. One of them on the bottom didn't make it.

Tonight they were all happy and enjoying the warm light and no pain in there tail feathers.

Sleep well all.

BL4, what adorable pictures! Beautiful parents & babies.
Don't worry, FT. I won't know who is who at the bash either.

Yeah, DK, I was looking forward to one of those farms too.

Don't you worry about getting off schedule with the gardens. Last year I couldn't get mine in until the first week of June because we had a really late frost. Really shortened up the season for me.

Sorry to hear about the heat. That is just miserable, I agree. And please, do not bring it with you.
lol.png

Oh, DrH. I am so sorry to hear that. This weather has been just a nightmare this afternoon/evening. I sure hope everyone is ok.
Here comes another bout of the heavy rain/weather down here. At around 7:30 the wind whipped up so hard it blew the doors of my greenhouse open & broke the latch clean off. With my luck, they'll be flapping around all night long now.
barnie.gif
The wind is just terrible down here!
Finally got the coop & most of the covered run cleaned out & rearranged today before the bad stuff hit. Hubby was mowing the lawn when he noticed the new mower had a flat tire. This was only the 4th time using it. (There was a thorn in it). At least it wasn't one of the nails from the roof. I sure hope all the shingles are still on.

And as if there wasn't enough bad news going around, my doc called on Fri. & told me I tested positive for a stomach bacteria that causes ulcers & possibly cancer & have to take a series of antibiotics for 2 weeks that cost over $120! (First found out about the cost today when DH went to pick them up). Of all the ****...........
Be safe, people.

transferred 10 turkeys to the hatcher.. also 1 goose,,, also about a dozen guineas..

have a bunch of duck eggs marke 5/22 but that is wrong, it should be 5/27

Hopefully the turkeys can go into their new pen tomorow.. The storms threw the kabash into my plans today..

have not heard from Brent yet.. Hope the storm missed him..

did anybody here get that 4" hail? the wind had to do quite a juggling act to hold that up in the air, eh?

Well, we managed to squeeze between the storms! Just caught the edge of one, knocked the lights out for a few seconds a couple of times, but not too bad. Hope everyone else fared well.

I had 4 boys and have 4 grandsons. With mine, my mother found a book "Toilet training in less than a day" It worked fairly well. Took a little longer than a day, but worth looking into.

Dr. H.... hope your friend is OK and had good insurance! The campground we were going to is gone?

Hubby got the garden tilled before it rained!!!

There is hope yet of getting it in! Of course more rain for the week.... but maybe between showers?

I ripped out the temp./small coop to re-build. I better get it rebuilt before Fri. because I DO NOT want to clean the chick (house) brooder again! D@mn 10 little chicks can be stinky! No basement so they are in the dining room.

I have such a cool son!
love.gif
He asked me to babysit his 2 boys on Sat. which was fine with me. However, the cool thing was when woke me up to let me know he kids were here, he also said he brought me a late Mother's day present. ... A round oak dining table w/ a large leaf!
wee.gif
I had been looking for one since we moved! There were no chairs, but I have chairs we can make do with until I can find ones to match. No more door over 2 small tables at family get-to-gathers!
ya.gif

There was more I was going to say.... but too tired.... night all!

Good Morning Everyone! Well I'm sure you've seen the news so you know about as much as I do. When we were tossing around suggestions for the Bash I had mentioned that campground as a possibility is all. I'm surprised that no one got killed down there, it always has a lot of people in it. Was thinking about the friend who raises our meaties and think that it's probably not as bad as we heard. The gal that told us their house was destroyed is known for her over exageration. If there's a fender bender 4 people died
roll.png
Will take a ride shortly to see if they need any help. Thanks for all the well wishes! Jim the large hail missed us thankfully! We had dime to quarter size, the garden was spared amazingly. CD don't worry you already know us, you'll fit right in!

on the meds! Hope your feeling better soon! Susie"J" I've had about enough of my roo Buster. I put the kids to bed and he went after me 3 times inside the coop. Not much room for a fair fight. He doesn't realize he's about to bring spurs to a knife fight! bl4 those are such cute ducks and duckies! Rai my parents obviously didn't do such a good job potty training me.

Bigz glad to hear the lookers are getting better! Hope it keeps improving! Sorry if I missed anyone! Just too much to remember! Better get moving1 Hope you all have a great day!

Working on the coop again today. Slow progress but it is progress. Messed up something yesterday so I have to figure out how to work around my goof. Measure twice and cut once.....Didn't get any digging in due to rain, grasscutting, other chores. Looking forward to getting the coop done. The hens look miserable in their current setup. Have any of you ever bought one of the Ware prefab coops and what was your experience? If you are a beginner like me and surf the net they are real appealing. The money would have been much better spent towards my current coop. Maybe some day, different address, I can repurpose it as a brooder or something. I am trying to incorporate the nesting box into my new coop. Went to take it off so I can measure it sitting on the new coop and only two out of three eggs today, so someone took the day off or I need to give them another hour or so. Oh well, I can have another cup of coffee and take a shower before I start in on it. Anyone have a krueig? Got a small one and really like it.

Krueig coffee pots are the ones that use those coffee creamer looking pods for just one cup.
I finished the door and figured out how to fix (or cover up my mistake, right Jim?) framed out the roof and put the plywood on it. Tomorrow i am putting on the felt, drip edge and shingles. Painted the flower boxes and some misc. trim pieces. I am putting off digging the cornerbpostband leveling the hill. Maybe on Friday.
