Dornes those are some really really cute chicks! Gonna start on the huge pile of trees that I got dropped and drug out yesterday before it gets too hot. I already closed up the house and turned on the dehumidifier. Was just thinking about second guessing yourself on spelling thing. Smart enough to know the word but not smart enough to spell it fits me pretty well!

Have a lot tops to cut up today but first need to get my limb saw running better. Can't get it to come up on RPM's, have been adjusting the carb without much luck. Think I'll shoot some carb cleaner in it and blow out the air filter think it's something I should have done a few days ago.

Wish they would add the rolleyes with a whistle. Have a good one!

I got 6 chicks under 1 mama, 2 chicks under another mama, 2 eggs under another mama, 2 chicks in the 'bator, 2 pips in the 'bator

(hatching vibes) and an egg <---- I hope this one gets a move on it (it's one of DSs)

Sad morning here today - one of the weak chicks died last night at some point after 10pm when I went to bed. I was doing some checks on it to make sure it didn't have a blocked vent or anything (why would it... it hadn't eaten since it got here, only drank what I forced down it) and it didn't of course, but it's belly button looked awefully strange and really crusty. I checked the other chicks and none of them were like that at all.

The one that wasn't doing so well, but was doing better than that one.... it made it through the night, I checked on it this morning and it was up moving around and eating, so I put it in with the other chicks. It is doing just fine.... running around and playing and checking out the 'digs.

Would you call the hatchery, even though it wasn't DOA, but within the same day?

Sorry to hear about the issues Carol, hope you find that check! What a pain in the @$$.

Well, have a lot to do today. Run to the implement for a part for hubby this morning and hopefully off to do some rummage saling with my SIL this afternoon.

thinking on giving mama hen the chicks from in here so I don't have to do anything! lol as it is IDK where I'm putting them? I got silkies quarentined (idk how to sp that, still to tired I guess) in my small brooder and bigger chicks in my big brooder.

just asked DS and he said that one of the mamas can raise them!

Thanks Raim. I called the hatchery and they want me to call tomorrow morning after I know the fate of the second one. I don't know, it is eating and drinking and it has SavAChick in the water so I hope it makes it... I am pretty sure it is the hamburgs. I could be wrong.

But after I call tomorrow they will see what I want done, either credit or new chick or what...

I love the old wire spool, looks like the goats do too! What a great idea. I actually have two of them in flower beds as a "shelf" for my potted plants with hosta planted around the base so you can't see the base all that much.

Works great, but mine are as tall as yours!

Well I called the post office again.. and the frakking postal carrier told me he delivered it.. to the WRONG folks.. same last name.
He said I will get it today.. oh yeah.. goody...
I thought about it for over a half an hour and then called back, and talked to the post master.. I asked him to talk to the carrier.
What person who has a job to deliver mail. DOES NOT LOOK AT THE ADDRESS!! My god.. what a goobmeister... grrrrr

Did I mention one of my black bantam cochins seems to have to gone broody.. we stuck a few silkie, polish cross, cochin and large breed eggs under her...
I may shove a few more silkie eggs under her!!

Good morning! Yup I am using that excuse too RAIM--feels like you arnt wasting time if you are having a "break!" I am trying to decide of I want to hang my next load of laundry out before work today...gotta get yesterday's down but not it looks like it is clouding up...to bad my DH isnt home yet...he always looks on the radar thingy for me! I am cooking a simple meal at the Pines today--hoping I can get out of there early too!
I made a mistake about that rabbit...I had the kind that gets REALLY big and is hairy with big ears straight up and a little tip down. Maybe I had the kind that Kee is stalking about...anyhow, I got him cause he was really matted and the owner didnt want to deal with it! Poor guy! I was going to try and spin his fur. We have a bunch of Jersy Wollies at our fair in Jefferson...seems to be a favorite of the kids in the project.

Suppose my "break" is done...got the inside birdies fed...now for outside and then to work! Have a fantastic day everyone! Terri O
