Well, Duke is NOT doing well, this may be it for him.

He can barely walk and only had a piece of cheese to eat. Paul is taking him to the Vet., we'll see.

For those who where not at the bash, Duke is the big dog by me. He's very, very old for a big dog, over 16. We don't know for sure how old he is, he came to us 6 years ago and the vet said he was over 10 then.

We did the best we could for him in his old age. Who knows, maybe the vet can do something to help him? I think it's time to let him go.

Oh Cind I am so sorry you are going through this.

I had an Akita and his hips and his teeth went at about the same time and he was at least 13 when we had to make that decision.
I miss him every day.

Not A Good Morning! WAY TOO HOT! Jim totally different taste isn't it. Your friend is right about the high carbon content of the tines. Hard to weld but can be done. Their tempered steel and if they get too hot they'll get soft. Cind sorry to hear about Duke but sometimes it's for the best.

Raim nice job on the pic! Someday I'll sit down and figue out how to do that. In my spare time.

And like everyone says make a habit of putting that cell in your pocket. I take mine to the woods with me in case something happens. A while back I told L that I made it all the way to the BFF's house AND back without it.

Thanks for the concerns on the wood making! I'm done till I can get at least a cool morning. Have more than enought for next years butt warmin. Came with a trailer load and noticed Peatwo limping. Looked at him and he broke a toe. That same toe was always been a little crooked but it's more so now. I picked him up and gave him comfort. Other than the limp it's business as usual, hasn't slowed down his urges at all!

Have to get the kids set up for the heat wave. Had the fan on in the coop last night. Man is the coop ever a squito haven! Have to get the garbage to the road, do my banking, and clean the Jeep. Going to Neenah this morning for BIL's funeral. He lost his fight with cancer. Only 51. Just sad! Better get a move on. Stay out of the heat people!

good morning.. I got up later than I wanted to..It was way too warm to try to hill the potatoes by 8am already.. so I fired up the tractor and smoothed out the pile of dirt the town dumped at the end of our drivewy when they installed the new culvert..

I accidently filled the bucket with road bed and filled in a couple of dips in the driveway as long as I was at it..

I called Troy Bilt about the new tines.. got nowhere with that lady. she needed model and serial numbers.. when I bought that tiller , all I had to do was make a phone call to them and they knew what I needed and sent it to me.. I ask you,,, are we really making progress?? we used to have 4 digit phone numbers, now it is a minimum of 10.. Is that progress?? everybody makes it easier on themselves, and to he!! with the customer..

I skipped coffee this morning and went right to cold orange juice.. maybe I should get a cuppa..

yep bigz my subway cup was in the car, I wasn't in the car since the weekend. lol
We have a cement block to put infront of the coop door but I forgot yesterday, I don't remember that unless it's windy in the morning when I open the door. It usually blows shut right away like this morning.
TOO hot! took a shower and didn't dry off

Good late morning...I am taking it easy today...only 1 dog and 1 client. Off to the fair for judging soon and then back again tonight to set up for 4H judging tomorrow. I really dont care for the 4th on a Monday....makes me have to volunteer on a Saturday!
Never did get the pie baked or the rhubarb sauce made...we ran out of propane yesterday so no cooking for me. Then I go to make eggs on the stove this morning...DUH! I made them in the microwave and they were actually passable.
There is way too much to comment on again as usual...I did want to say thanks to Raim for another wonderful job on the picture! My DH looks like he is floating in the air. That's what he gets for hiding in his shirt! CC and her DH look like they were there all the time. Yeah DrH...someday I will learn how to do that too...
OK--I need to go outside and make sure the birdies have enough water. Try to stay cool everyone...Have a fantastic day! Terri O

All I can say is TG for central Air !!! I'm going to love staying inside today and tackle the dishes, get garbage ready for the dump tomorrow etc. Was going to go the the Humane Societys Rumage sale but don't know if I wanna venture out at all today. Made a deal with DH that I would do inside chores if he did all of the outside ones. That worked the other day too of course until he watered the greenhouse and my cordless phone was in there !!! Still waiting for it to dry out to see if it will work. One nice thing about that though is I'm getting more done since I can't be yakking on the phone all day !!!

Dr Haha, sorry to hear about your BIL's passing. 51 is way to young. We buried my older brother on his 51 st birthday. He had CP and after our parents were murdered (Jan '02) the stress of all of that didn't help him any. He had azma (sp) and apparently heart condition. He passed on St Patricks day '02 at a friends house. She had cats and he was alergic to them and kept taking his enebulizer(sp again) treatments for it, then suffered heart attack. He loved people and had tons of friends so when the funeral home said they could have the service on March 22nd, his birthday we thought it was a good time so all of his friends were there at the same time.
Now that I'll be 53 in Aug I really realize just how young that really is !! RIP my dear brother Tim.

On another sad note, today is my late fathers BD. He would have been 82. We will never know if he would have still been with us since him and my mother were both murdered in a home invasion, burglary gone bad, Jan '02.
I have a feeling he would still be here since his sisters are and they are 87 & 89. His brother lived to be 90 I think.
Yeah, Dad would have loved my little farmette. AND my CASE480 Ck tractor would be running right now !!!! He worked and retired from JI CASE co, which is one of the reasons I bought it....... should of had a knowledgable mechanic come with us though !!!! My Daddy Angel must have been on a break and wasn't watching over me when I made that purchase !!!!

Anyway, on the brighter side of things !!! When I get outside to take a picture you can all see the newest edition to our gang !!! Just what we needed !!!! Oh, there are 2 of them !!! And they EAT !!! hint hint !!!

Say, does anybody plant garlic in the fall??? I just got an email from Jung and they say to order your garlic for fall planting. They have like 12 different kinds? Any suggestions? Or where to get some?


Will try to catch up more later. Need to get more coffee and check emails. I've had an ad up on Craigs list looking for a forecart for my Drafts and got alot of replies. Can't call anybody back though so hopefully this weekend I can.
Then maybe once I get good at driving (safe driving) we can bring them to a trail ride if you all pick one that carts can go on. I've decided I'm spending way to much of my time doing chickens, I need to spend more time with my horses. We just bought a 60' Round pen that we need to put up then I can do my parelli. Shoot, living up here I don't have much of summer left !!!!!

So everybody, stay hydrated, take your pills and tell the ones you love that you love them, (1 legged, 2 legged and 4 legged & humans too) You just never know !!!
