Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Tons of rain this am, has now switched over to blowing snow. Got my surgeries done, records in, owners called, getting out and heading home hopefully while I can still get in my driveway. After that let it snow, I'm off til Wednesday, woot!

Bye all, off to battle the roads.

Hi All, just got back from my appts.. puppy weighed in at 41.4 pounds.. he is gaining about 5 pounds per week.. still looks skinny, though..

the rooster,, He was looking bright eyed and sassy this AM.. I guess the therapy I gave him did the trick.. or maybe he is just faking it so he doesn't have to go on another spin ride..

In the shape he was in, there was no way he was going to drink or eat anything.. I really thought he was a goner in just a few more minutes..

I know about the antifreeze hazard.. what happened, the hose from the engine drip, dripped onto the cover of the bucket I had the antifreeze in..

we have about 6" of snow, but now the wind is really nasty.. I am not going to work on the tractor until tomorrow, I think... Sh!t !! that reminds me,, I was going to F&F when I was in town.. I guess I will have to make a trip tomorrow..

I skipped breakfast this morning,, when I got home I was soooo hungry for a PB&J sandwich.. so I made one.. first piece of bread I had for almost a month.. let me tell you,, it was sooo good..

lol.... on the pot belly pig. I would eat it so it would not be a pet for long. Pig roast anyone?
I barely want a dog as a pet. My poor dog will not be around much longer poor thing. She is 12, and a week ago she fell down the stairs. She has a hard time seeing. She is now incontinent. That is not going very well in the house. I do need an outside dog for the chickens. The Humane Society does not sell dogs for outside. They ask to much money too. $400.00 for a dog. That is big bucks for a dog someone dropped off and does not want.

yeah, and the $400 is just the tip of the iceberg,, they figure if you pay that much for a dog, you will give it a good home and take better care of it.. I guess poor people shouldn't be allowed to have pets..You do know that only poor people mistreat animals and drop them off at the shelters, don't you ??

Good one Jim, thanks. I wanted to reply but I would have to drag my soapbox out.

Beef roast with fresh mushrooms, onions and celery has been slow roasting in the oven since 1.... made some oatmeal bread in the machine to go with it. Dang meat was so tender you could cut it with a spoon.............. and dang good too!

Kids are hoping for a late start tomorrow! I hope they just end up going. All of those Christmas parties that they need to attend!

Still snowing here..................

Snowy Evening Here.... I think I put on 5lbs in one day. The cherry pie turned out fantastic. I was able to freeze 3 quart bags for future pies. Suzie decided to bake bread and buns as long as she was baking. Between the cookies, pies, and buns, I ate enough for a couple people. Ham roast with green beans and red spuds. I'd untie my shoes if I was wearing some. LOL!

Good to hear everyone stayed safe. It's still snowing good here. it will be a big job tomorrow cleaning up the mess.

Nice pic of the springers TDD. Ours always loved the snow, and would get big clumps hanging on their legs. Nice place you have there. Is that the front of a hawk trailer I see in the pic? What town are you near in central wi ?

Glad to hear you are ok frenchie. Did you find any Hay? Alot of folks lookin for hay...they sold some at the sale barn here by me, but they were the big huge rounds and squares.

Evening all.......... been cleaning snow all day. I think we have a about 10 inches, hard to say its been blowing around since it started, had a 3 ft drift over my door this am... it blows so hard out here it whips the snow right over the house and deposits it right on my door step...........
Well hubby was at least safe he ran out a time near Appleton last night so I went to get him, well what a fiasco that turned out to be. I now have no car, creamed a huge doe just a block from Mackville, she jumped up out of a steep ditch right into me, by the time I seen her head over my head light on the passenger side I had already hit her, never ever had time to hit the break, took out most of the plastic bumper, the hood the quarter panel and the passenger door.............. I'm think the adjuster who is coming at 9am tomorrow will total it and he best pay me whats it worth too or we are gonna go round and round, because I have stuck over a grand in that dam car this year..... it has new front tires, a new radiator and plastic crazy hose..... new rotors, and bearings, hubs, brakes, ... and Kelly blue book says its worth about 3000.00 maybe a bit more, it was in good shape before this,
here's the web page what do you all think I should demand if they total it. http://www.kbb.com/ford/focus/2001-...9217|true|159320|true&pricetype=private-party
anyway So HOW told Adam to leave his truck parked today to so he got a free snow day, he will run the load to Georgia Pacific in GB in the morning.......... he has 49,000 lbs on that trailer., he ran so much yesterday he never even ate anything until we got home last night at 11;30........... silly boy he got hollered at for it, he surely doesn't need to loose any weight...........
So that is all thats new around here, will see ya all tomorrow sometime..........later and night all.........Kim

Well we haven't had power except a few hopeful flickers off and on here and there since around 2pm.
I called our local power company and the truck in our area is stuck a few roads north of here. and the guy asked If I could get the number of
the township plow guy... well I did... you know its bad when YOU call the emergency number to report a power outage... and are asked to get a number
so they can get their truck unstuck...
Well off to save power on the laptop.!

Holy windy! I think we are up to around a foot of snow now and its still coming down. Kids had no school today of course. DD6 and DS3 are sick. Spent a lot of time cuddling today.Hoping the kids have school tomorrow. Packed up 95 homemade cutout cookies. 24 cutout cookies, 4 loaves of bread, and toffe for their parties and gifts for their teachers and bus drivers.
Feeling like a bad chickie mama today. With all that was going on in the house today I never got outside to check on them or the goats and pony. I put Cosmo in the shed last night so he would be out of the wind. Everyone was stocked up on food and water so hopefully they all weathered the storm ok. Can't wait to get out there tomorrow to see how they are doing.
Hope everyone is doing ok through this storm.

Hi All!

Just a few inches of icky stuff here. Dippy Turkeys! The 2 I separated have a roost, a raised board to stand on and straw... they stand in the mud!
I have no Idea why they started fighting! They were raised together since spring. Didn't squabble until about 2 weeks ago. At first I thought it was just a "remember I'm Boss" thing but when the one tried to get away or back down, the other wouldn't give up. He had the poor guy cornered and just kept at him! That's when we put him back in the temp coop. About a week later one of the hens (turkey) got out so I but her with him. Yea, I thought they usually got along pretty good.

Think I should try putting them back together? CC... these are Midget Whites...Toms around 14lbs. hens around 8lbs. Real friendly breed too.

vicki... love the pic! Those chicken tracks really make it! LOL
Tom.... You are welcome to come do all those "manly" things here! Dust is the last thing that ever gets done!
