Oh yeah, I think I got kicked off another group.. they were a bunch of snobs who couldn't handle the truth.. I didn't even get nasty,, all I did was disagree with the owner of the group.
can I help it if he/she was incorrect ?? I do know she did not like being told she was wrong..

Is it bad practice to put a pocket warmer packet in with shipped eggs in cold weather ?

Ooohhh I had that happen when I didn't like when a more "prestigious" member showed a pic of their grand child on the back of a young horse, with a parent or aunt barely hold said YOUNG grand child on the back of the young horse, IN THE MIDDLE of a herd of horses, and their back TO the horses behind them, AND no one had a halter or lead ON the young horse, in the middle of the herd of horses, with a young child barely held in place by some one...
Now I won't bore you with the ins and outs, but usually its a bad idea to do that, too many things can go wrong and you can end up with a young child with permanent injuries.
The only thing that happened afterwards with me getting kicked off, was there was another older horse group and I had a funny nickname given to me by the main mod or owner. And one of the mods on that group was also one of those that kicked me off their speshul group, they changed my nickname to something derogatory and so I had to get a hold of the main mod and tell her what was going on... she changed it back.

Have fun with herring!! I am having spugetti with Joan and DH

Hi, folks! Just wanted to pop in and wish you all a happy, healthy New Year! I count on this group for my daily entertainment, so even if I don't write often, I do follow you all daily.

One quick note re keeping water bottles from freezing without using electricity. I keep my rabbits in a insulated area but no electricity. I can't keep their water from freezing but I can slow it down. I use a couple of those insulated bottle holders (used for kids' bottles) and I also wrap other ones in bubble wrap. It's amazing how much longer I can keep the water fluid this way. Hope that tip is helpful - I read it on BYC somewhere and it really works!

Take good care -- oh yeah, ya'll know Spring is coming right? It's staying light later - hooray!

Happy New Year,,

I spent part of this afternoon blowing out goose eggs.. I ended up buying a basketball air pump.. It works great for blowing the eggs.. I did about 32 eggs and made "omelets" for the animals and birds.. I have stacks and stacks of omelets..

I used the new non-stick green frying pan.. was that ever nice.. I beat the batches with the Kitchen Aid mixer..

I still have over 30 more eggs to do.. prolly tomorrow..

my sisters are due to show up to visit gramma.. then I am riding to town with them and DD#1 will come here to watch over gramma tonight.. I don't plan any heavy drinking,, but youngest sister always has lots of goodies to eat..

I have not weighed myself since before Christmas.. afraid to.. I will go back on my diet after tomorrow..

Well there are several different opinions about warmers. They are eggs, they are delicate. Theoretically they should not survive shipping, yet, they do. It is better for an egg to be cold verses warm. Frozen? Not so much. Are the purpose of the hand warmers to prevent freezing or heating the eggs? Do the chicks start developing and get scrambled with all of that heat and than add the post office hand tossing? Would the heat from the warmers allow the attachment of the air cells to occurs once the eggs were set? It is a crap shoot. If you have to ship or receive eggs during freezing weather you take bigger chances. I received eggs during freezing weather, no hand warmers. I don't think it is bad practice to add pocket warmers. I think it is just personal preference.

It is like heating coops..Some have strong opinions about it. No one is right or wrong. it is simply different.

Well, didn't go back home today. I was defrosting my freezer and it's taking forever and don't want to leave it. I have laminate floors that I don't want to ruin.

Sitting at McDonalds again and today one of the managers and his girlfriend are having a lovers spat. They took it to the glass enclosure by the doors, she was swearing up a storm, hit the door, left and he (manager/worker) followed.

Don't think he came back in yet. Now I'm heading down to Kenosha to babysit Addie. Yippee.... Hope they have some goodies to eat. Will come home home Wednesday. ET is doing a good job tending to the critters. He worked last week but not this week..... He's applied for another job... hopefully they'll call him after the holidays.Ok better get off this thing and get down there. Only a few hours to play !!!
