Click on "insert image" which is 5 icons to the left of the smiley icon, then click on "browse" to look through your picture library. Pick your pic(s), then pick the size (default is medium) and hit submit at the bottom right.

Vans at the shop again... Very little heat... Ugh!

I think the chickens are on strike, no eggs today.

I went out and checked on Nellie again. No signs of any issues or mites on her legs. She is moulting-underneath is all prickly and few feathers. She was shivering and shes the only one whose feet were cold. Held her for a few mins inside my jacket and she snuggled right in. As soon as I put out evening scratch she was all over the place-so crossing my fingers shes just cold and the weather warms up!!!

Have had the heat lamp on the past few evenings and they dont know what to do-dont think they are getting much sleep and its sure caused an increase in eggs! 7-9 a day right now

Good evening all...I am wiped out! Up 19 hours yesterday...MXM arrived today at 9:15--she helped me with the chores but had the most fun throwing eggs from the loft! How in the world can the "wild" chickens lay all winter and my laying flock need light? It is a mystery for sure...

So tomorrow is "the great meet up" LOL! We will be at Starbucks(on E. Wash,) about 11 if anyone cares to join us...(yes I AM a social butterfly BigFam!) until you meet me that is....then I am quiet as a mouse...until(OK that's Enough)

Looking like it is getting pretty dark outside (and I cant type w/o mistakes) so I am heading out....If I am still awake I might be back...TerriOheadingofftodochoresAGAINwait,didntIjustDOthem?

Good to hear about Nellie, Ang. Sounds like the molt may be the culprit. Hopefully she can get under that heat bulb & not get bullied. I'd still recommend putting the vit/electros in the water to give her immune system a boost. A molt can really put a stress on a birds system.

Getting warmer!! It should snow tomorrow. The FF is freezing abouut an hour after I put it out..looks like I need to cut back on supplys if there is so much left in the bowl. Birds were out most of the late afternoon.

Interview went well..I did not throw up so in my book it went well.

Agreed Deli! I need to put my "trough" under the heat light again tomorrow! It is also getting full of frozen mash! I brought the only Meatie in today that didnt respond to the treatment of Tylan. I have medicated him/her with Tylan200 injectable and liquimyocin orally...we will see what happens.
Dh just got home...I think I am heading to bed...still really tired and I have to get to MXM's by 10 tomorrow! That means early chores for me!

I switched to fermenting just straight scratch grains a few weeks ago, if you drain it well you won't have freezing remnants left in the pans

and yes CC I also started adding electrolites to the water at the onset of this cold weather,,,,,I think it has to help with the stress
