Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Ah....done reading...and almost ALL the pot is gone! Gray and grayer here today after a lightening storm most of the night. At 3:45 there was a crack of thunder that practically shot me out of bed! I think the lightening struck something up on the hill...the whole house shook! That got me right up and I was awake for another hour wondering what got hit. Gout out of bed by 8 though...I sure wish the darn dogs would stop barking in their kennels after DD leaves for work! So tired of waking up to that. If it would only get nice out they could stay outside all night!

That is what I wanted to do to them!
Unk, you are funny...

Did the taxes, not the results I wanted but at least Uncle Sam did not have my $ to spend wastefully! Someday I will figure it out so that the total is $0.

Transplanted the tomatoes this morning, and then I planted my Basil, Parsley, Brussels Sprouts, Romanesco Broccoli, marigolds, and 4 O'Clocks. Baked a cake for my co-workers 50th birthday celebration tomorrow, and took a nap. I guess it was a productive day even though I sat on the computer for a lot of it.

DH made dinner; meat and veggies. Nice healthy meal....

Sheesh Mel--you sure get a lot done for being sick!
The picture of the Wyandottes was taken in November. Even though we don't have ducks, thanks to our seven full size girls and the neighbors flock of seven, there is plenty of mud to go around. My cute little "dottes" are now dirty little "dottes"

I am glad to hear that you have mud also! I would hate to be accused hogging all the mud in my own yard! Cant even walk out there without slipping around. The ducks and geese are loving it though.

Aaaand dadadadaaaaaaa.... the beautiful flowers!!!!!
That is really a nice sitting area! Do you ever get to sit there? Did your DH do the barn repair? I need to get mine done! I love the glass block idea for more light in there. My foundation is crumbling and looks to be the same age as yours.
You might need to get some ducks too !!!!
Yeah...perhaps she should. I could take mine inside and let them swim in my basement right now!
My mom JUST had a baby!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (I'm 13) The oldest of 7, now 8. Woke up this morning to find mom and dad gone. Called and said they were fine,, and HAD A BABY BOY!!!!!!!! 7 boys now. SO EXCITED, (skipping school), TO GO SEE IT!!!
Wow...SEVEN BOYS! (hear that BigFam?) You are now is second place...I know how you hate to be bested so perhaps you will be getting busy?

Congrats on the new addition Colton. I feel sorry for the sister! LOL! Sounds like busy times ahead for your family...or should I say BUSIER?
Good morning!! Congrats olton!!!!
Horrible weather. :'( :'( the ice ripped out the power lines to the barn. Which in turn ripped the siding off the house. Hubby ( builds houses) does not think he can find a siding to match our old stuff! We just painted last summer. (When I say we I mean he) lol
All my poor trees have lost sooo many branches :'( :'( :'( :'(
This is what I thought about when I saw Judge's "beautiful" picture! Our trees are down too but from a heavy snow storm a month or so ago. Branches everywhere! When those old box elders get snow or ice on them down they go! Too bad about the siding! Maybe you can get all new now? Yeah right...I have been trying that for quite a while now!
EVERYTHING is covered in ice up here and the pine trees are all sagging from the weight of it. We're lucky to have power from the looks of it - a lot of folks around here are in the dark. Lots of accidents on the icy roads so I'm staying put for now. The chickens have plenty to eat inside the coop.

Sorry to hear about your power lines and siding! Nice spring, eh?
Oh yes....SUCH a nice spring! Jim I want to hear you singing that White July 4th song at the bash...maybe after a few swigs off of BigZ's flask?

OK--time to go outside! TErriO

ATTENTION ALL MEMBERS!

I just got a call from our Grade School here in town and they need 30 hatching eggs pronto! (now get this...) They want to have them hatch next week. Their source at the UW fell through for day 18 eggs that were supposed to be there today. I dont have any currently incubating so am wondering if any of you do? They do have a back-up plan to go to Abendroth's and purchase them if we cant help.
Any of the friends going to CC's have any that are close?

My advice to her was to stop promoting the instant gratification that we are teaching our children and MAKE THEM WAIT the full three weeks! How's THAT for a curmudgeon reply? LOL! (then I would provide the eggs)

Anyhow, can anyone help? Thanks! TerriO

Morning Chickies and gents.........
Nice weather we are having here as well power is out from just south of us to Kimberley.......... we had about an inch and a half of heavy wet sleet and snow, made driving the boy to school nice.....NOT had to 4 wheel it... barely anything was plowed...... chickens won't come out and my horses were covered with ice cycles this am..... OMG if mother nature don't get off the rag I'm gonna scream.....

Congrats on the new baby brother Colton.......... you should have told us you were only 13, (red faced) most of our group is of the older variety.......like me 47 and getting older every second.......

Hubby is on his way up from Illinois . so he be will running right into this yuck........ warned him at 7am, now I have to warn him again heard on the radio same yuck next 2 days...might see the sun by Saturday...... :barnie :barnie

So Jim are ya building the coop in the living room? I think that is probably advisable seeing as how winter won't leave....... and building a clean coop in the house isn't bad, I have had Harleys or someones Bike being rebuilt in my living room over the winter........... and lambs and goats in my house, along with chickens so wood would be easy.......

Well thats all for now willcatch uo with you alls million posts later today...... Stay safe everyone its kinda crappy out there......Kim.

Mine are due Friday ..so I can't help. sorry. I might have a few that are due next week, but not that volume. More like 4.

oh Deli... hoping I have a splash orp... beautiful!!!

Anyway..thought I would share some pictures. But have to say between most of the chicks being white or black, hard to get good pics. Black desk in the study where they live right now doesnt help.
First pic needs a caption. Look closely ...

This is a barred rock. The spot looks bigger than it is, but how big is big...

another caption needed... love my little polish, but they are so small.
Too funny (cute too), I would have never thought of training my dog to check for "pasty butt". The first one looks like "there you go now a little kiss and all better", the last pic "what do ya think, want yours checked too?"
I love EEr's !!! That llittle girl is adorable. Two of my favorite EEr's lay a brown egg but have the nicest beards. They look like Amish men !!!!

Judge, beautiful pic! I've got some to post too.... later.

Was up half the night with the storm - rain, hail, thunder, wind. Kept checking the clock to make sure we had power, otherwise I would have had to jump outta bed and make hot water bottles for the ducklings to keep warm. Everything has a coat of ice on it. Pretty, but would be a lot prettier if we had warmth and sun sometime soon to counter it.
