Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Fish Fry Friday to everyone...hope your plate was filled with fish goodness tonight!

Finally finished tilling the final garden today...I swear that the seeds will be in there tomorrow even if it is a week late. It will be a blessing to get the 100 day crops in the ground. It was more moist than I prefer for tilling, but i'm on a mission of planting now. it's all about the harvest.

Thanks frenchie.....I'll give em a call, and make a deal....it's time to deal, i'm thinkin!

This life we live everyday is truly a blessing. I'm Thankful every moment.

Stay Safe, Have Fun... bigz

Ok I know a lot of people on here are experts in other animals...thought I could ask. So we just got a second hand fishtail but there is a cloudy film on the glass...not the thick calcium but cloudy and it does not appear to wash away...any ideas what is ok to use to try to clean further?

Otherwise I survived our first day of summer break! Visited some friends, played with chickens, got the garage ready for my garage sale next week and picnicked on the driveway!

Ugh!4 posts got 'dropped'!?
Couldn't adjust my last post, added another and a call came in and my phone reset back to home page. Grrr I jad tons written. Will post again later on computer I guess.

You can use bleach on the fish tank. Don't use anything amonia or oil based. Dont forget to let your tank cycle before you add fish. You can google the nitrogen cycle and aquariums and save yourself some fish deaths. I used to be into reef aquariums for many years and wrote articles and all that jazz. I recently donated my 210 gallon set up to the Appleton Childrens museum. I was traveling for work so much for so long that taking care of exotic fish and coral became more of a chore than a pleasure.

I would try to use vinegar on the fish tank. Other chemicals can kill the fish when you add them.

Angiebubs, I have a white chicken for you! If this bantam faverolles/cochin turns out to be a girl, it's all yours.

Thanks, I think they'll know though. It was over $5,000.00 worth of equipment so they said I get a plaque with my name on it

I am just happy that it will be ooohed and aaahhhed by lot's of little kids. I had some of the fish for 10 years so I miss them

Yes, vineagar is also great for cleaning aquarium stuff. Once the tank is set up you'll likely use that exclusively for cleaning pumps and filters. For now on an empty aquarium you can use bleach or vineagar.

Here are a couple pictures of my past tense "baby." I do miss seeing it. It was built in to the wall downstairs and really looked nice. It had a whole room full of equipment behind it. Kind of like a mini Shed Aquarium back there.,

guud evenig,

I am not getting notices when someone posts on cheesheads, either.. and I am not getting the notification that I have a PM<

Zeke, I answered your PM..

the double posts are prolly because you "Moses" " are hitting the submit bar more than once.. Patience grasshopper.. It will go,, albeit slow, but it will go..

I got orders from Annie to peel a guinea out of it's shell.. It is doing just OK,, but hey, if it lives, six buck$ is six buck$ , right ?

I let the barock roo and about 5 of his ladies back into the peacock pen tonight.. they refused to stay in the chicken coop..

I have to sort through bator #2.. I can smell a bad egg.. Most of those iggs in there are Marlene's,, I think I mentioned before that she collects for a long time before bringing them here..
Hint: don't do like that, people.. 3 or 4 days is what I try to maintain..

I was going to plant tomatoes after supper,,, and then it rained really hard while we were eating.
can you say, "OH SH!T !!" boys and girls ?? I will try again tomorrow..

Annie sold two cockatiels today.. trying to get down to just 4 total.. I think she has 7 or 8 yet..

better quit before you think this is FT posting.. double check the avatar ..

Yes, they are pullets. I took an Orloff home and may get a partridge rock tomorrow if they are still there. I don't need any giants though. Jon is so excited about these 12 hives of bees. He goes out there about every hour and stares at them. The girl that owns them sells honey by the barrel! She said we can have as much as we want. I think 2 qts will last me a year. Maybe I'll bring some to the bash as a raffle or white elephant next year. It will be raw.

BBP-does that lady need anymore places for her hives? I'd definitely buy some of that honey off of you (or accept it as a W.E. gift)

PsyPeep-I just made rhubarb pie with your cuttings, Thanks! Also, made a make-shift jelly-ish. I stewed the rhubarb in water with cinnamon and sugar until it was mostly soft and reduced, then I added a strawberry Jello mix to it and let it cool! I haven't tried it yet, but the pie was great!
