Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

CC, heading South this afternoon! I cannot wait to hit the road and escape for a few days....... hang out with adults, drink and get silly..... sounds like the Chickenbash!

I need to find SOMEBODY around here who has eggs, and I mean not a long drive but just outside of town..... if any of you southeners have extras I will gladly stop in and buy a few doz. I love that TO's eggs traveled across the country with us on our trip!

Poor DH, he is going to get a little culture while we are down in IL. We are going to see a concert at Ravinia and take along the required wine and cheese picnic. Good thing he is a good sport about all of this and is smart enough to indulge his wife!

So the plan for today is get the kids packed up and over to the grandparent's place, get back home and pack for myself, get DH to pack his stuff, get the car loaded up, and then hit the road....... my only request is that it warms up!

I wish I could oblige with some eggs but the girls have been slacking lately and I haven't had many to sell - I wonder what's up all of a sudden. Have a good trip!!

My daughter and her boyfriend and little dog (Colby Jack) visited with us this weekend and just before they left they stopped in at the store to say good-bye. Colby got into the back yard with the chickaroos and we could not stop laughing. At first they were all curious and tentative. Then Colby decided it was fun to chase the girls a bit - just halfheartedly and good-naturedly. Once he and Danny Boy got close, it was another story altogether. Danny Boy gave him the stink eye and ran at him but Colby quickly turned the tables and ran after him relentlessly. The hubs (who gets set upon by Danny quite often) nearly split a gut laughing. A big old roo running for his life with a little black dog on his heels. Wish I got a picture of it before the daughter scooped up the dog. Danny Boy stayed in the bushes for awhile after that. The girls seemed mildly concerned as the chase was going on but never got frantic.

It just seems right.

The young buck's are really growing out nice...I'm still happy with them.

We are having a big deal with the building permit for the addition to the shed at camp....we started before we applied....WTH...we are willing to pay whatever...we also need to get workers together when time permits, and can't deal with downtime.... it's easy, peasy, to see what we are doing....must be D's....calling the shots...

Can you peeps help me. I was wondering who do I talk to or see near the Black River Falls area for a couple more hens? Jeff said I needed to add a couple to help them get thru the winter. He says 3 hens and one roo might not make it. But yet He thinks I am crazy, because I talk to them give them names and feed them treats. So he tells everyone I just spoiled them. So I guess if I need a couple more need to start looking. I really don't want chicks yet. Still learning about these guys. When more comfortable then I will try the chick thing.
