Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

I love car shopping! I really do. I am good at it and I get great deals. Went with my son to get his first new car. He was shocked when he heard the salesmen and sales manager talking about how good I was when I was out of the room talking to another dealership. He thought my husband was exaggerating when he said I was good at buying cars. We got an amazing deal on his car because stopping at the right time of the month is key also. They needed one more car by the end of the day to get their bonus for the month, so they lost on that car, but got their $10,000 dealership bonus and made some money that way. Win, win. That was a no haggle dealership. They'll haggle if they have to... I have walked out a lot of lots, I have also bought from them on a different car. I have been known to bring my new car back to the one I walked out of the next day and say hi to the salesman who wouldn't budge on that last $500. When I got my new SS Camaro the Bergstrom I walked out of wound up with the Camaro I walked out of the deal on their showroom floor for another 20 months. They sold It the day I bought my Caddy (for a lot less) and got really superstitious about it, lol. I said well I guess you should have taken off that $500 and you wouldn't have lost all that cash. They were thinking they were cursed, lol. So I walked out with my Caddy for exactly what I wanted to pay and what I wanted on my trades. FUN!! I always deal with multiple lots at the same time to get the best deal. Most of them know me already and know if they make the right deal I will buy it now.
My husband tried selling cars many years ago and couldn't stomach it. He learned some tricks though. I worked at a lot as a sales assistant before I joined the Air Force myself and saw how they operate.

We will not make it untill about 1 tomorrow :'( I now have to work.

Del, is there an itinerary? I would like to know if we will get to see anythi g good going on :-/

Lisa, in many years when I can afford to get another vehicle, you are invited. Although, I am proud to say my last car that was only 5k I got 2, 300 knocked off :)
I think it is because I trained the guys daughters in 4-h for the last 11 years. He works there ;-)

Any crafty people out there these are soo cute I tried to download the pattern but didnt have any success... Maybe they are not allowing be to do something on my work puter...
That site looks like it has lots of neat patterns and ideas! I certainly dont need another hobby though...good luck with the download!

LOL! JJ you are describing the guy we bought the Jetta from. I did not like him at ALL! I wanted to run from that sale....... but we did buy the car and we did get a good price and it has been excellent. I found out later that the lot we bought it from was well known to the specialized dealerships for selling inferior vehicles. The VW dealer I take my car to for service has been impressed with my car and have been pretty shocked that I have not had issues with it. Knowing what I know now about that dealership I would never return there. To get us the lowest possible loan they sent out loan requests to MULTIPLE agencies. We were getting notices for months about pre-approvals. Our CU had a pretty good deal that we should have gone with instead.
I think your experience reflects what the guy/gal from MN was saying! I thought I quoted that too...oh well.
Of course you can post here Person from MN! I believe we have a few IL folks too. The borders of WI are so friendly we invite all!

Me too Lisa...although I have never purchased from a dealership. I prefer the private sales myself. My brother is working for one of those Bergstrom Dealers...I think in Appleton? (not sure) I am sure he would be glad to sell any of you a car! Actually I think it would be cool to have Lisa go and see if she could steal a car from him! (yes I am a bad sissy!)

HEading off to the garden...too bad about your chick Cind! Hey, werent you supposed to post some pics of the stuff you are creating from the feathers? I have another good load for you BTW!

Hi All,

vicki.... Glad your birds are showing improvement! Hope the cat situation stays fixed!

momg.... cute booties!

welcome ejb!

TO.... yea, I was going to post pics but things were going out as soon as I had them done. Mostly the the writing quills. The cut nib quills just look like feathers mostly. I do some with metal nibs that I wrap the shaft. I do some bookmarks too but they haven't gone as well. I'm trying to find time to get the hat feathers made. I only did a couple so far. I'll try to snap a pic of some inventory before it goes out again. At least now I have to ship them instead of Jon snatching them up before he goes to work! LOL

The Tom turkeys are finally feed up with the dog grabbing their tails! A few days ago Rudy garbed some nice new tail feathers and that was the last straw! They were on the deck sitting with Neil this afternoon and Rudy wanted to go out. He took a few steps out the door and and Tom Tom went for him and chased into the house! He even went in the house after him! Tonight when I went to close up the turkeys were on the deck again. They waled in front of me down the ramp and Rudy was about 5' behind me. Soon as I cleared the ramp Tom Tom went right for Ruddy! Chased him into the house and into the next room!

I almost peed myself laughing! Tom Tom came back down by me and Rudy stuck his head out the door and went along the house to the far steps looking for the turkeys the whole time! I don't think I'll see turkey feathers in his mouth again!

Wow!!!! Where was someone with a cellphone taking video! :lau

Thank you for the good wishes. I hope to get new pics of them tomorrow.

Turkeys??? I remember my daughter playing soccer in Milwaukee near water... Its geese and the number of them that really make poop!!! That was the most horrendous soccer game ever surprised they allowed us to play considering all the slipping and sliding in the salmonella laiden field

It's like walking through a park for small dogs where no one scoops up afterwards!

Yes I grew up in the Milwaukee area and those darn Canadian geese were everywhere. Terri wish you were closer...I would set for regular babysitters. We hired carol tonight to watch the kids while we went out to new glarus octoberfest...lots of good food, great music and of course...fantastic beer. We have lived here seven years and never gone. Found out my cousin was in the band that was playing last night so we went ...with my 75 year old mother and her 85 year old boyfriend and had some fun. Well we had fun...they thought the band was a little loud. Our regular sitter has mono and the backup was out of town...so this worked. Now a fun day of soccer and flag football is to come!
Wow the decrease in eggs already has me bummed. Had to warn my customer that it is coming...

Could anyone going to the big show today :pop. PLZ PLZ PLZ :fl
Take pics of any nice Aussie s that are there and post the pics for me??? :bow

Hope everyone has a great time!!!

X2. On the good wishes Vikki!!!
