Bigz, you are so right! They will not roost. Didn't even think of that. Guess I will have to up the bedding from now on. We even tried giving them a board that was only a foot o ff the ground. No go. We will work it out. I love these guys! They are so sweet. And sooooffffttt lol

Hi all...still darn chilly! Split pea soup with ham and bone for dinner from the week after Christmas--MMMM. DH and I ate a good portion of it...tomorrow I will refashion it into bean or lentil soup. Yum once more!

Plumbing was frozen in the house today...and the well for the barn! I was slightly paniced before I remembered the bleed-off valve in the basement! I went down into the wellpit and brought up a non-frozen hose and hooked it up...at least I didnt have to carry the buckets out of the bathtub like yesterday! Every time I dumped another bucket into the horse tank another horse would come and drain it! Sheesh--I think I carried water for an hour! I have one of the frozen hoses in the kitchen on the floor...hopefully it will be thawed by tomorrow and I can hook it onto the hose coming out of the basement and I wont have to carry so far.

I dont need to do that again. Thank Goodness it is supposed to be getting warmer by the weekend. (just in time for us to head on a (really) rare trip to Florida! At least it will be easier for DD21 to do chores...she has been in SanFran for a month--payback!!!!

Thanks for the birthday wishes!!! Have had a great (relaxing) day. Just had a cake that Megsie made in the shape of a chicken with chicks!!! And some fun gifts! (blouse, Lefse maker with rolling pin and flipper, Kerig coffee maker, foot heater/massage, etc)

Good morning--sent a client to Florida yesterday...and picked up a new one with the same first name! What are the chances?
Meg did a great job on the cake Judy! It is certainly "our" kind of cake for sure! Did she make if GF as well? If so that is even a bugger accomplishment!
I started thinking about our trip to Florida during the night...big mistake! I know where my swimming suit is though. Maybe just live in that for the few days we are there. I hope we can get some boiled peanuts somewhere...I have been hungry for them lately.
Nearly 9...I guess I better get moving here, besides, I seem to have fumble fingers and keep having to retype everything!

good morning,, got up before 5 today.. all cuppa'd up and chores done..

minus -12 F didn't feel so bad,, I got all the chores done without having to come inside to warm up.. I even filled the goose's bath tub ..

now, what do I do with the rest of this fine wisconsin day ?

I think I will go to town just for something to do..

I have the charger on the Blazer.. I know the connections have to be cleaned, but they will do for now.. It started yesterday.. almost started today ..

I wonder if the tractor will start ? but I don't wonder enough to try it..

It was supposed to be a warmer day today..the weather man lied again. I need to ship off some eggs..not in this weather..

It looks like the rest of the week is going to be cold too..sheesh..we need a break. I left the coop open again and the birds were glad to get out. Two days of lock up was too much for them. I am still not done feeding and need to get busy..they sure are eating more..the birds are still laying..
