Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Hi all! Just thought I'd check in and mark my "spot" like Cind does.

Then maybe I will start to keep up...but dont count on it! Hey, it looks like the sun is trying to make an appearance...now that would be nice! It has rained on every day I am home...didnt clean the house though...oh well.

So I got the new chromebook...still trying to figure it out. I recovered passworkds for a lot of stuff...here included, but still am not up to speed.
Hen turkey has hatched 2 poults, I take them out and put them in the brooder and she goes right back to sitting. I thought one was dead but it moved in my hand so I popped it in the bator for a few hours. Perked right up! Didnt JJ do that with a chick or two...made them come alive in his hand? Hey, is he around any more? So out of touch I tell yua.

My jobs are going well...picked up another little client for the WEAP job. (WI Early Autism Project) and also 2 gardening jobs...now if we could just get some decent weather!

People are coming over like crazy and buying birds....that is a good thing! The geese hare hatching and I have all hatched sold already...I have an owl problem again though...they better get here quick and pick up or they will all be gone!
Gotta run...guess I should take a look at the bash thread...so much to do~!
Have a great day! TerriO

Hello everyone! I sold 3 roosters this a.m. :weee. My daughter was in tears because they were the first chickens we hatched. She was very attached, but what can you do- we don't need three roosters. We have some Swedish Flower eggs hatching today. I hope I get a better hatch rate this time...

I bought my turkey 2 poults this morning. Brought them home on lunch break. Can you believe that darn turkey is off the best now?! She's been broody for 4 months! So now I have to set up a brooder for these little ones. Annoying.

I got my white elephant gifts today as well as a couple raffle items.

Hello everyone. I'm Heather, mother of 9 year old son. I live in Shawano County and I'm a new chicken mama. I received 10 hens and 1 rooster a little over a month ago, watching them until their future permanent owner is ready for them. I have never had chickens before and I'm growing fond of them. I took 13 eggs from the unknown breed mix of hens and put them in an incubator. 8 are due to hatch on May 21st, 5 are due following week. I'm a newbie to this and its exciting.
Two weeks ago, I bought 2 rouen ducks. The woman had 2 buff bantam hens for sale, I fell in love with their cuteness! I ordered a dozen chicks this morning, they arrive on Monday, I'm excited! But, unfortunately, one of my bantam hens died this afternoon. :(
I thought I would introduce myself. I will probably be asking for advice and showing my babies off. My animals are my kids.

Hello and welcome Heather!
Glad you found us and the best guru's and advice givers I know of. Enjoy your chickens and ducks to the fullest and maybe post some pictures!

Oh, there is also our annual Cheesehead bash coming up the end of this month. The link to that thread is in either TerriO's or (I think) bigzio's signature. Hope you can make it there!

Well I'm officially State Flock Tested, such a load off. I don't have to worry about selling my chicks at swaps anymore. I have 17 chicks hatched so far, 10 SS, 2 BLRW, 4 EE and 1 Prod. over a dozen external pips and a bunch more internals.

Still can't get the temp on bator above 85, goin to pull the ceramic heater out of one of the others and try it. Nothing else going on here other than excited for the Neillsville swap Saturday to sell chicks.

Wildsam: it will be me, my daughter and her bf coming Sat, we both have blonde hair and will have a small table with a tote full of chicks. Stop by and say hi.
