Ohhh Stacy, so sorry about your dog, I can not believe anyone can do something like that unprovoked, and agree with Jim it just isn't right, what a nightmare. I remember a guy at a place i used to work for and he joked about soaking sponges in bacon grease to dispose of a neighbors dog, almost made me vomit... Some people and I use the term "People loosely here" just have no heart.

I am supposed to find out if anyone has quail? Don't think the guy cares if its a couple of breeders, or some fertile eggs, he has a small seabrine and can easily do a few more than a dozen or so.

As for the bash, still trying to talk the hubby into it, Anyone just coming up for the day on Saturday? We just bring our own food and beverages? If the weather is clear in the forecast I may have more chance of getting Dear Hubby to go. He just returned from Walleye fishing and is tired of sleeping in a tent. First night they had snow! They caught a 38" walleye, but let it go as his brother already has one about that size on his wall at home, but it is the story he is sticking too.

Hope everyone had a great weekend, garden and flowers are all in, this is the latest ever. I have had the peas, chard, beets and radishes in for several weeks now taking my chances... but all the "warm weather stuff is in" Ohhh and coddling moths on apple trees is this the time now that blossom fall is happening to put those traps in the trees?

Hens and Roos special prayers your way, I lost my Dad last fall and it was quite sudden and unexpected. Hope things continue to brighten for your Dad and that you can have a better Fathers Day ahead instead of the sad Mothers Day you experienced!

Thanks all take care!! Enjoy your family and friends and thinking of all those who have fought for the freedom we use to express our thoughts!

we have quail- jumbo browns, they are just starting to lay or a few adults. I know TerryO also has quail.

Nice duck condo!

Great GF cake bl4!

DH & I dug up irises, day lilies, tulips, chives, and ground cover from a small and overcrowded bed and planted them on the hill by the road. We have also planted a cherry, pear, and crab apple tree. DD13 hung out with Theo and the chicks today. She really missed her critters while she was gone.

Not much else here, nite. Oh, we ARE going to the bash.

Hi all
Clark, I am so sorr6 to hear abput the pup. That is horrible. And I hope he improves very qiuck.
Hensnroos, best wishes for ypur dad!

We will no longer make the bash :,( one of our dog sitters cancelled. And I no longer have help with the chickens. Hubby will now be working. I was so looking forward to visiting. And meeting all of the new people.
Had a wonderful day here today. And scotts valley quail are finally starting to lay! He is very happy :)
Momgille, scott has bob whites. And lots of eggs from them. We are near Waupun, if your friend would be I interested.

good evening,, we had a T storm roll through here,, well, not right through here, just a bit North of us.. It rumbled and grumbled for over an hour before it finally got here.. then we got no lightning or thunder..

I sold all 14 guinea keets this afternoon,, she left an order for more when I get them..

another lady is supposed to come later this week for chicks.. that one seems iffy to me..

Annie found where the guineas hid their nest.. Dummies,, really ?? right in the rhubarb patch ?? don't they know how much I love rhubarb pie ??,, I suppose the next time they will hide them under the apple tree ...

I have to check bator #2,, I think I have eggs due on the 26th,, which is today..

awhile back who was asking about hatching eggs for people ? to date, I have made over $200.oo in less than a month.. Not enough to live on, but it buys a lot of feed ..

Deputy called this afternoon and first asked if I wanted to press charges. Hell yes I want to and also said he was being charged with criminal animal cruelty but wants me to wait and see how Rudy does as if he dies the charges will be more harsh. I don't normally let my dogs run, I do understand the leash law. Not that their should be a but to this, but he had followed the kids to the river and just cut back thru the neighbors yard on his way home. If you knew his personality on how easy going this dog is you would more understand how disturbing this situation must of been as Rudy would of come right up to anyone wanting to be petted. I'm sure he had no idea what was happening to him. And the guy admitted to the reason for shooting him had nothing to do with him attacking him or anyone or anything at his house other than the dog was in his yard and wasn't his. It really makes me sick that a person could do this to a defenseless creature. Anyhow, next week will be spent building a huge kennel for Rudy and Pooches so this will never happen again. Rudy is still alive, he's not acting himself but it's to be expected. I sure hope he makes it thru, my sil said it's so hard to tell right now as you can't see what was hit on his insides. He hasn't bloated yet or shown any raspy breathing or bloody which is a good sign that the bullet missed his lungs. He is walking around some but very slow, he's limping on the shot foot and I suspect that he will always have problems if he does pull thru as the bones are shattered. I stitched what I could to keep the wound closed but nothing else I really could do. It's open enough so that it can drain but not pull the wound open. My husband said I should call tv13 and tell them what happened to us so people can know just what this guy did for no good reason.

Well I have 15 hatched out of the 18 of this batch. 6 Speckled Sussex and 9 Easter Eggers. I just set another 44 on tray 4, 15 blrw, 15 ee and 14 ss. Then the 9th, 10th and 13th I have 283 to hatch. That one is going to be a dousy as I'm making hatching trays now to keep the breeds seperate. I have 2 hatching trays for the bator but will need a few more as I have a quite a few different breeds in these batches. Will be a new experience hatching so many at one time. I suppose I better candle the ones set on the 19th tonight to be sure of fertility as I left them sit a bit longer than normal trying to get the monster done and finish my hatches in the other bators. Sold the 11SS and 17 Prod chicks lastnight so all I have left of those is one prod and one blrw. Won't have much to bring with me for the Ricestonian swap but it will be fun anyhow.

Glad your doing good with your hatches Jim. I've made quite a bit this month on chicks, enough to pay for the feed bill which was my original intent in the first place when I decided to start hatching and selling chicks so my goal has been met.

Anyone know how long it takes to get your State Flock Cert in the mail? I was hoping to get it by Saturday so I can make copies to give buyers.

Forgot to add, sam I love your new condos!! Wish I had something like that for my chickies.

Sclark...Wow! Hope Rudy makes a full recovery and you can get some retrobution. Sounds like he was drunk and bored to me.
