Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

CC_glad to see that the anti-biotics have kicked in!!!!

Amy-glad that you got your garden tasks done today.

My kombucha is almost ready!!!! I can't wait. I'll eventually have SCOBY to spare if anyone wants to start their own kombucha.

Ive wanted to try making 'bootch' too. Kefir is yummy and easy to do, I just let my grains sit too long and they went bad. Have to find some more. AND I really want to learn to make water kefir - homemade soda!

CC: OMG! Glad to hear Steves hand is doing better but OUCH! And cute chicks! (I missed what breed they are with the poofy lil heads?)

BBP: Eggs all ok this morning? Our electricity came back on around midnight I think. I hope it still gave the commercial dryers (Disinfectant spray, etc) enough time to do their jobs from the septic tank mess.

Supposed to be storms every day this week.

Girls thought it meant party time and woke me up a half dozen times....ended up not getting back to sleep until 4 am....6 am rolled around way to early....going to be a long day!

Great to read all the good stuff, and see the great pics...thanks for taking the time to share them!

Thank-You for your gracious offer CS....just simply bring something for the raffle next year if you really feel obligated.....you guys are the best and it's not necessary....it's $27 ...LOL! The raffle is the key to a cheap week end...Thanks again....you and Nathan are the best!
We have $9 left for a bag of feed next year....I will donate as usual...

The WEEDS have taken control of gardens like never before.....dang...more work in the future...just to wet to work in the clay....

Keep having fun...bigz

DD woke us at midnight and we went to the basement, nothing in our neighborhood but 1/2 mile down the road a down burst looks to have toppled over a dozen trees, one landing on a roof the others just twisted and downed the power lines.
I made the Kumbachi, but didn't care for it much. I am however thinking of using the dehydrator to make some Greek style yogurt.
CC good to see the swelling going down, I have had an infection like that with the lines drawn but mine was in the elbow so they made me do the iv drip... I swear I was eating a metal pipe for two weeks the meds really do a number on the taste buds. Please tell him to keep an eye on it, until its gone it can still flare up.
Glad everyone has their gardens in, I got a head start and the peas are all blossoming... Burried chicken wire and topped off with netting to keep the 13 striped gophers/chipmunks outta my strawberries... 3 years I have had the patch and not a stinking meal of berries... Last year I rat trapped 17 of the buggers. Wouldn't you know I go to check on them last night and there is a *(&)% tunnel into the middle of the bed and nips out of any berry that was turning

Well stay cool if you can all

We ended up getting up around 12:15 am this morning and took the kids down into the storage room unit the all clear around 12:45 am. The west side of Madison had an area hit- sounds like 26 houses had roofs damage/remove- haven't heard if anyone was hurt. By the time the storm went past us, the winds and such had died down.
