Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

sounds like you are in the butt of the city and the A-shole is right next door..
Seem like it....I over heard him yelling at some other kids the other day on the streets for no apparent reason. So he is now not a nice neighbor in my book and maybe other neighbors around him too?

But, i'm really desperate to find some place close by and not to far away to raise my birds. So, please let me know if you or know some that you know/ other members has some room to rent for a few chickens, contact me right away or on this forum

No Jim, that would be where I live. With the exception being that my neighbors LIKED my birds. It was the people who I thought were friends who were the true ashhats and turned the town against having poultry.

Bluenkimchi, I am sorry you moved into that kind of neighborhood. I hope somebody on here can help you out, and that you are able to relocate to a poultry friendly neighborhood soon.

Boy sure sucks to have such ahhhh *** hats for neighbors... However you are talking chickens and not even Roosters, or in my case turkey poults who are crying for their mom.... omg what a chorus of sad birds they are/were... Best wishes and hope that they can change the laws to accomodate you all. im I have ever-bearing raspberries so they will not ripen till the fall should you be our of pie at that time and there is a fall bash I will bring berries
.. still have bunches frozen from last year!

Thanks for your kind words and concern. I certainly hope someone on here can help me out very soon.

I wish I could help you, but I'm on the other side of the state. I have 85 acres you could pick a spot from. Lol

Thanks, I wish I was closer to you then I could have just set up anywhere to raise my birds and you would have never known

WI is such a rural state, compared to my home state of CA. Thought even in suburban areas, chickens/hens without permits and rooster would be allowed......guess not.
Really no turkey poults either, what about ducks and goose then? Or what about pigeons, they are just like other wild birds, that only makes as much noise as the wild birds everywhere. I've seen kids that are louder than a crowing rooster hmmmmmmmmmm..........................and they can go on screaming outside for minutes/hours on end...............

Poor babies! Chicks have to be the easiest babies to take care of. How can someone mess it up like that? I would be beyond upset.
No doubt Yvette, all she had to do is make sure they had heat, water and food! Apparently that was too much to ask. Found out they didn't even come to do chores until after noon time when they are usually done asap in the am. She also figured since it was warm during the day they would be ok at night, wrong!! And the ones in the house hatching was suppose to be taken out of bator daily and given water. You wouldn't believe the mess, it was beyond gross and inhumane. She lives next door so no reason for it. And on top of it my husband paid her $50 for caring for them!! I made him give me the money back as it was rediculous to pay when I lost hundreds in birds! All my BLRW, SS, EE, Guineas, Cochin Bantams, Lav Orp, every **** chick that I had, was over 75 chicks out in chicken house and that doesn't include the ones hatching in the house. About 75 are alive of the Layers that hatched but that was out of 15 dozen and 2 dozen guineas with one alive, their were dead rotten chicks in the bator with icky fluids everywhere. The chicks that did make it were covered in the liquid. The mess I had to clean up was horrific!
Any ideas on how to get the stench out of the bator and room? I've been using febreeze and scrubbed it down with hot dawn water and it isn't working. Bleach? I'm sure it's seeped into the wood now. Gah, I can't begin to express how angry I am over this.

I am also in need of a BLRW roo asap with good quality, am willing to travel and pay good money for it. I don't have one atm and my son was suppose to show Hepheastus in the fair. The neighbor has one he can borrow but it has a split breast and many other faults, besides I'm looking for one for my breeding. I can choose one I have of my olders ones I kept, but it won't be able to be shown for my son.

On the plus side, I had eggs set that are hatching right now. One Lav Orp(lav color) has hatched and many other chicks are pipped. Also have BLRW, SS, BO, BOB, Lav Orp and BLRW EE hatching.

I am on the hunt for SQ blue or preferably splash Cochin hens. I wish Tiki was still raising chickens. She'd have some for me.

Bluekimchi- I think its ridiculous that other people get to decide what we do on our own property. I don't care what state you live in. It comes down to the simple fact that there are too many people on this planet, living too close together, with nothing better to do than complain about what their neighbor has going on. My property line is the city limit line. I am zoned agricultural, so can have whatever I want fir livestock. But no chickens allowed in the city. People have complained about the noise, but really there's nothing they can do about it. If they could, I would move. But pretty soon there will be nowhere to go. There will be subdivisions filled with people making ridiculous rules about every little thing everywhere you go. I'll have to move to the Tundra or some other place to get away. Lol

Edtited to say: looking for blue BANTAM cochins.

Gosh all it did in June is rain, now we sure could use some. Heard my first cicada buzzing yesterday too,,, fall is coming.
Blue I was with you but then realized you have a rooster and there is no city that is going to allow a rooster within its limits, perhaps had you only hens you could have slid under the radar.
Washing machine took a dive after 25 years. We replaced the belts a couple of years back and it must have been slipping unnoticed either way the motor is dead/fried. Time for a fancy new front loader, I hear that even though their cycle times are longer they spin so well that the clothes dry in half the time. Also because they do not have that agitator I can wash quilts and large comforters. But it is on back order so going to the laundromat today.
Sclark sorry your sil was not able to handle the chores, more sorry for the chicks and everything not something one needs to come home to, that is for sure.
