Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

I was running late this morning and while opening the coop heard a bunch of "attempted" crowing!! Found this odd as my cockerels aren't even 3 months old yet. Then I realized the cockerels were all by me-it was an older black hen!!!! Then by my feet I heard some/one of the cockerels trying too! WTH? LOL I will have to check this out when its lighter out and i have more time

Mine was crowing at 9 weeks.

My Lav(BlackSplit) Orp hen crows at times for no apparent reason, the first time I seen it I was amazed. Maybe their scolding another? I seen on fb Saturday another person had a hen making crow signs also.

Wow CC! My other Roos were closed to 5 months before they started their frog croaking LOL Is it weird I think it sounds adorable? I remember they look so stunned and excited when they first do this, I can't wait to get home and see this as it was too dark to see them much this morning. Although they probably will only try in the morning?

FYI Missed you on here CC

SClark: It was soo funny-she was right next to my Lav Roo and he was looking around trying to figure it out and it was as though they were competing. Since I have 7 or 8 black hens, I couldnt tell which hen it was.

FYI-What size is your coop that you are selling? I tried posting to ask this last night and finally gave up on my #*()&@)#*&@ laptop

Ok, just measured and I hope you can understand what I'm saying. The trailer from tongue to back is 12 foot long by 6 feet wide. The coop main floor is 4'widex6'deepx80"tall, with the nest boxes it's 5 1/2' wide. If you need anymore measurements let me know.

Quote: I understand,,
an empty shell of a building of this size would cost much more to build than the asking price.
I counted the roof panels and estimated the building as 5 ft x 8 ft ..(roof size)

is there a hard floor in it ? or is the trailer the floor ?

Jim, the enclosed portion of the coop has OSB walls and roof with a treated plywood floor, the trailer floor is additional floor space if wanting to enclose the bottom of coop and use the lower trap door for access in and out.. Walls are also wrapped in tyvec before putting the barn boards on which are 10 1/2"-12+ inches wide. Shell is 2x4 framed with 2 2x10 treated boards on bottom for skids as before putting this on trailer I just pulled it around yard when I wanted to move it.

Pouring Rain here today. How did the Mexican dinner turn out at Portage? Did Delish do any good with the birds she was showing?
Wish I coulda made it to the show.

Nothing new here....working on the pile of sticks....dang rain today chased me back in the house just when I started splitting some of the big chunks. Good thing I have another couple months to work at it.
