Morning everyone.
Not much else new here either, besides tons of colors and leaves everywhere. The Anconas (at least 2 of them) have started laying eggs, so we get a whopping 6-8 eggs a day. Luckily I kinda pushed SO a bit and the sign out by the road works pretty good for people to stop in just as we have eggs to sell. Plus, the few bucks helps with the feed bill, especially now that winter is trying to get a foot in the door (did you all get a forecast of SNOW tonight too?!?). Not liking it and hope it will stay decent for another month. It would really be nice to have more than half of the year snow free!!!
The ducks love the weather these past few days, the entire yard is muddy and they can dig and muddle to their hearts extend. The only downside is the very murky pool waters cause we're NOT cleaning and refilling them more than every few days. Just too much effort and waste of water for the few minutes they manage to keep their bills out to change the color. lol. Our Muscoviies figured out how to use their wings (especially the girl, since her brother is a BIG BOY) and keeps flying from pen to pen terrorizing everyone else. She tried the same with the geese and got payback. lol. I think she doesn't like them...
Stacy, Anellia is getting so big and beautiful! And glad the authorities might actually finally come to a good decision. You could really use a windfall there. And good job on your coop sale. Hope no more predators are getting hold of your birds. It is NOT fun to walk out to something like that in the morning... Especially since it seems he didn't even have really time to get settled in all the way. Gotta love all the nature around us sometimes... urgh! Might have been a coon, although they usually like to play with their food. Or a bobcat, she definitely would have the bite.
YES, we do have another bobcat around. Again. Got proof on the trail cam and SO saw it pouncing towards the pheasant pens. Needless to say the next day he went out and got us our own trap. Of course we caught something right away after baiting the trap. A strange skinny white thing with brown spots lay curled up in the trap about 15 minutes later. lol. Now we just gotta see who is faster, the trap or the shotgun... Seems we somehow attract bobcats fairly easy up here, and Stacy you're not too far off from us and maybe the cats territory?!

Pheasants are doing good. Unplanned mama and her 3 babies are still in a big cage inside the house and doing good. She is a really good mom to her little fuzz balls. They are getting so big already too. About 1/3 the size of her and they're about 3 weeks old now! And bouncing all over the cage, peaking out from moms feathers, finding the perch and playing in the branch we put in there for them. Now just to figure out when to throw them guys outside... decisions, decisions....

I guess I better get going here. Wanna head to the library now to get some books to read and finally finish the series I'm reading. Plus, I'm in desperate need of Nutella and some time to myself. Have not been able to sleep these past few days, restless and no clue why. Maybe this will settle my nerves a bit... Later all, stay dry! And warm...
