Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

My kitty girl (kitty wompas) is a real killer. No mice in my house. I sucked the fluid out of the dog's ear. He didn't even seem to notice. There was 5 ml in there. I saw some pictures of dogs online where their whole ear was just fat. Gross. His wasn't noticeable unless you touched it. Someone was petting him yesterday and said "what's this lump on his ear?" I knew right away what was wrong. Poor dog.

There are other "herbs" besides marijuana that are "wacky". I know of a couple native plants that would do the job very well, but I am not a user of herbs. Don't even like tea.
I am a whisky drinker, but not exclusively. Rum, vodka and gin are acceptable on occasion. Really don't like beer, able to tolerate a total of one on a really hot day cutting wood. Not much of a wine drinker either.

SORRY, POSTED ON THE WRONG THREAD...

For peeling eggs, drain after cooking then shake the pot a little to put some small cracks into the shell, then drop into a bowl of ice water. Works great for me.

Long day, a lot accomplished. Still along ways to go on the list. Hopefully 2013 list doesn't spill over into 2015.

Got the deer butchered. Son shot a great 10 pt. First time I didn't hunt the opener. Very little rest of week.

Cuties I have one of the girls laying. I'm going to assume you had some glw in that hatch?
Compared to the others she is a real b***h. I had planned on sending to freezer camp with roos, but have neighbor looking for egg layers, All are doing great.

Yup Jim you are correct. 99% of the time, cats are taught their hunting skills by their mothers. Occasionally you will have a cat that figures it out on their own, but the best are taught. Mom brings home live prey and teaches the babies the kill bite. Our 4 siblings were idiots when it came to hunting....... they had no idea what they should be doing with those fuzzy rodents. Watching them was good enough for them. These two new kitties I have no doubt they would be able to catch and kill whatever they wanted to. They spent much more time with their mothers and their mothers were very good hunters.

Sorry to hear about the pup, but better it goes now than later.

Terri, Ginger cookie recipe! I never frost these cookies, they are good enough without the extra sugar. I included the frosting for anyone who would like to give it a go.

Frosted Ginger Cookies
1 1⁄2 c butter
1 c sugar
1 c packed brown sugar
2 eggs
1⁄2 c molasses
2 t vanilla
4 1⁄2 c flour
1 T ground ginger
2 t baking soda
2 t ground cinnamon
1⁄2 t salt
1⁄2 t ground cloves
Mix together, drop by tablespoonfuls 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheets and bake
at 325* for 12-15 min. Cool on racks.
1/3 c packed brown sugar
2 c powdered sugar
2 T butter
1⁄4 c milk
1⁄2 t vanilla or caramel flavoring
Pinch salt
Bring sugars and butter to boil, boil one minute stirring constantly. Stir in milk, bring to a
boil. Remove from heat (mix will look curdled). Cool for 3 minutes. Add vanilla and salt;
mix well. Frost warm cookies.
Makes about 6 doz.

Pugs are cute snortly little, guys! Love the puppy pictures Jim!
Sorry I have not been on lately...work is busy and kids and with this sprained/ fractured ankle I have been laid up and a little down. Was losing some weight and feeling good and now almost 6 weeks and still have a swollen ankle and air cast. But walked out to the coop for,the first time today, girls are doing good. We supplemental light and get about 40-50/ laying this time of year. Still have a few young ones that may not be laying yet.
Puppy is finally potty trained. Now wish we had invisible, fence because he wants to go outside when the corgi does but he wanders a little further...can't believe that a few months ago he would not,go,outside without me by his side. Guess a bad ankle has an upside.

Nice thanksgiving. Almost done Xmas shopping, trying not to go over board. I get excited thought.... Husband hates the holiday...he is kinda a bah humbug guy, I love it so decorating like crazy this weekend!

Hope all are well

Kristi, there is a plug in fence system that is fantastic. The main unit plugs in an outlet inside the house, and creates a dome perimeter that you can adjust. The dog wears a collar that will warn then shock when the dog leaves the dome. Usually it does not take long for the dog to figure it out and they stay where you want them to.

Venison chili for dinner tonight. Topped it off with some Habanero Jack. Yummy!
