Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

youngest child DD took us out for breakfast today. I had stuffed crepes covered with raspberry sauce..and lots of whipped cream.
I told the waitress that her tip was dependent upon the amount of whipped cream I get.
I have often thought of raising herbs in containers. I should look into how to do it
I was trying to get doppler radar on my cell phone. i messed around until I really messed up the phone. Now I cannot even use it.. will have DD Barby look at it..
93F here today. I turned on the AC in the living room and in our bedroom..keeping it quite comfortable.
I was thinking of dragging the lawn mower out today to see if it will start.
the heat thwarted that idea.
my grass on the lawn is just about ready to go to seed. It looks like an oat field..

yep, from a distance, ominous storm clouds can be really pretty..

It's a slwer pace here with the weather, but it won't last and I'll be back at doing nothing at a comfortable pace.....if that makes sense than you understand doing little at times, adds up to the big event that the engineering department developed, and spent sleepless nights working out the details figuring out the best option to the problem and that is what matters most... great to be alive....

Since we are all under the same roof once again, I spoiled the DH today.

It is good to have him here.

Yep it looks really good bl4, but believe it or not, I've never had a clam.... I don't have a clue what they taste like?

I think clams taste a lot like the water they come out of.
the meat is real tough, quite chewy,
but not as bad as baby octopus.
they are like chewing on a mouthful of rubber bands.

Starting to rain here FINALLY!!!! Now hopefully the humidity will back off. Chickens are surviving the heat thankfully. Garden is finally coming up since I planted so late. Strawberries are about done here. I am going to pull up all the plants this year, enrich the soil and till it well then replant.

I should get one more very light picking of strawberries in a couple of days. I picked early this morning before it got too hot out there.

We have been working on a raised hugelculture type bed for our new strawberry bed. The area has been dug out, then we'll put in downed branches (avoiding walnut ), a layer of composted deep litter, and then the soil back on top of it all in the rough cedar raised beds were making.

I had a great crop with my Honeoye strawberry plants this year, but I'm always on the lookout for other great varieties if any of you have had strawberries you've enjoyed. :pop

the strawberry farm just up the road is opening up for picking today.
Our little bed did not do so great.
we planted in very poor soil.
I broke down and bought a Cub Cadet garden tractor/lawn mower. It will be delivered on Wednesday..
since I have not mowed at all this year, it will be put to the test right off..
this will give me plenty of time to fix whatever is wrong with the Husquvarna zero turn..
I have grapes that need new arbors.
I decided to not let DD Barby plant corn.
I have too many other things to do before fall..
if she wants to garden, she can take care of the strawberry patch..
aren't mussels a clam ?
