Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Thanks guys. The cheapest one I can get here is $45. And...we just can't swing it. We are waiting to see if Dash will eat right now. If he doesn't then we have a really crappy decision to make. I'm hoping to bring him home tomorrow

Oh wow, thanks so much. I will definitely PM you.

Dash is home! He's still not out of the woods yet. We're just hoping his system keeps working properly and keeps things moving and his intestine doesn't die, basically. They said it was really bad. BUT. He's eating chicken, he's perky (well, compared to before, anyway) he's happy to see us. We need to buy him a cone of shame now and some more meds. The bill was steeeep. What we didn't pay up front--well, we have a lot of it on a Care Credit card, but it has to be paid off in six months. If anyone can maybe share the fundraiser link with people if you think they could help, my sister started a fundraiser: https://gogetfunding.com/dashs-donations/?single=32469

Does anyone else ever list things for sale and then when someone wants it, you question whether you should sell it? I listed my two hen turkeys for sale for $75 and 3 people have emailed asking when they can come pick them up. I don't have a Tom so really don't have a use for them but I'm finding it hard to let them go.

nope, never. when I list them I am glad to see them go..
turkeys are like women, another one will come along eventually.. LOL

Nice to see you stop by the cheeseheads bbp. Sounds like three options...sell them, butcher them or find a Tom...
Collected my first two eggs from the young pullets that I hatched from eggs shared with me at our annual bash....these are both olive colored eggs...the pullets are 25 weeks old.... just sayin.

Fish Fry Friday once again. Lazy menu tonight with breaded beer batter cod, breaded butterfly shrimp, and baked potatoes.... been busy today and just taking the simple but tasty meal way out tonight.
Collected more eggs today...tomorrow I'm going to move the hens to the big coop, and give the present coop to the boys.....they are some really big boys, and need their own space with their boy like attitudes away from the girls for now. ;)

bigz

Dash is going to be completely fine. We were still a little worried up until yesterday but he's officially a snot to the cat and trying to trot around the house and get into mischief again. He's done with being crated and I feel bad that he's going to have to stay there for two more weeks, but I'm not chancing those stitches and a relapse.

Personally, I'm done. Cooked. Going around like I'm in a fog all week. I think Dylan is going to take the birds tomorrow morning so I can sleep in.

This evening a miracle occurred - @babylady4 and Terri O stopped by with a turkey, and a tree, and gifts and...I wasn't here, because traffic was so crappy when I was taking the two kids to their dad in Milwaukee, but when I got home I wanted to cry when I saw it all. It's the little things. It feels so amazing to be so supported. KristiP dropped off some stuff with Jeff earlier in the week while I was at work (did I mention that I got that job? I'm working with the Secretary of State now, which is great, but it's LTE and no benefits, which isn't.) and...there may be a bit of a Christmas after all in these parts. There will be a tree up in our house tomorrow. It feels so lovely to be so supported you guys. Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts.

Other good news today is that Jeff got a scholarship to the 2019 MOSES conference. I haven't heard back yet about my application but I'm hopeful. I know they're still processing things--the hard thing about that is that we have to come up with the money for the basic fee in January. It's a full scholarship but they want you to pay a little.

The other other good news is that the fundraiser posted by my sister for Dash raised enough money so far to cover Dash's first vet bill (from before we were referred to emergency) and his meds, and his cone of shame, and his followup visits. We still owe my mom a lot of money, but we can also make rent now.

So, all in all... :love :love :love

Congrats on the Moses scholarship!!!! That’s awesome! Fingers crossed you get yours too!

We were all happy to help! You have a great piece of property out there and amazing views! The house have great bones and you can see where you can take it. Love love love the stove! You have some fine young men at your house too, be proud of them. Dash was happy to see us too.
