Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

I got rid of the chickens and the rest of the poultry about two years ago.
I was all fed up with taking care of them in the winter and fighting with frozen water.
Then shortly afterwards, the mother dog got crippled up from old age so we had to put her down. We have no indoor cats. Once in awhile a stray or two drops by and cleans up on the red squirrels and then they leave
In a couple of months I will be 80yrs old. I had my fun with animals
In the last year or so I had both hips replaced. so I wouldn't have been able to take care of animals during recuperation , anyhow.
I would like to have a dog, but I fight the temptation. having a dog is like having a 3 year old child. Needs constant care. Can't open doors for itself. gotta be fed and needs a babysitter if we go away for more than a day.

Oh, well maybe a automatic dog feeder and a dog door would help with that.

No thanks, no doggie door . I am content to pet other peoples' dogs.
yesterday Annie saw a tiny baby rabbit scoot under the wheelchair ramp. It seems early for baby rabbits,
at least it seems so cold. but rabbits can't help themselves, i guess. lol
today everybody will be gone for most of the day. I will be here all alone
I can do whatever I wish.

Ok it was just an idea. Coyotes have been killing all the rabbits around here. One night the rabbit is hopping around inour neighbors yard next day its dead.

If it's just dead, then not a coyote. If it is dead and gone, well then,,,,,,
I just went out and unwrapped the new trees. they are looking good. many buds.
I checked one elderberry bush for cuttings. I found a half dozen or so recruits. got a pail of sand ready for them. they are budding out already.
the garlic is about six inches tall. looks like most of the bulbs are sprouted.

Seems to me that a coyote would eat the whole thing. also i think a coyote would carry it off like a fox does.
I would guess a tom cat got it.
I could use a couple of outside cats around here. There are baby rabbits already. with plenty of time left to have one or two more litters yet this summer.

We have plenty of cats that run through our village.
