Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

looked like alot of rain through the north, north central part of state, not sure what received here, but ground still pretty dry, puddles out in the road though.

ground here pretty much absorbed it all.

10 hours ago — An area just south of Newton, Ill., recorded 14 inches of rainfall in just 12 hours, according to the National Weather Service. Thunderstorms ...

now that is alot of rain, bet some unhappy farmers in Illinois

there is nothing like cultivating your corn with a pontoon boat.
we are lucky here because our land slopes toward the river around us. too much water just runs off while a certain amount soaks in.
not often, but i have seen water running over the driveway so deep that it almost reached up to the rim of the tractor tire.

I have only a few minutes before we have to leave for a surprise birthday party for a high school friend. she is turning 80.
anyhow, i have to tell you the good news.
this morning I took the new carb off of the lawn mower. I received a different new one in the mail yesterday. I put it on, choked it and turned the key. It started instantly and kept running. I idled it down and it still kept running. of course there was a lot of white smoke as the oil burned off of the muffler, etc...
I turned it off and set the speed to low. turned the key without choking it. it started right up and kept running.
I still have to set the high idle speed. but I don't have time to right now.
ask me, am I a happy man ??

Yay!! It the mower is working again. just in time for it to start raining, lol. Looks like you guys are in the path of the storm. Looks like it is going to miss us.
lol, I thought you were going to say just before it snows ..
we are not out of the woods yet.
the mower has been sitting for more than five years.
I have to make sure the mower deck is not all rusted up. I am not too worried, though.
I have not checked my radar yet. I am sure we will at least get some rain.

the storm went south of us. we got just a little rain. all in all, it is plenty wet outside today. no sun.
I went out and started the lawn mower up. I spent a few minutes adjusting the idle speed. I think I got it pretty close. It idles like it is not going to fire again,, but it does. and when I slam the throttle wide open it doesn't skip a beat. I am satisfied with it..
one of these days I will put the tachometer on it..

Glad to hear your mower is running.
Pretty good rain here last night, looks like southern WI has some rain also. They were short of rain earlier this year.
Picked 3 pieces sweet corn, kinda young yet. Had ants, but still good. Not much further out now.
More rain coming at least the weather says.

Southern WI was short rain from the year before as well as this year. Walworth county saw extreme drought conditions last year….

We were down in Elkhorn for DAS Fest; about 2” of rain fell. Much needed but not enough.

A shot of one of the stein hoisting events that I was assisting with.
