Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Good Morning All! raimnel glad to hear the kids changed their minds! Amyable: I like the laurels particularly. NE! TO that's a silly question. It's in the sundries and yeast store town. Was planning to hit the woods this morning but looks awful wet out there. Think tomorrow AM would be better at least that's what my knee says. NU NU no Knee! Think I might be able to find something else to do. Bigz how's the coop coming along? Think today I'll put the big girls outside after the egg incarceration and cut the SLW's loose in the run, they'll like that. They try and fly in their apartment but it's too small. Can't believe how big they are already. Have to PM BL4! Have a good one!

Well here I am again! I just laughed when I saw that you were before me DrH...maybe that is why you have Ha Ha as your name; that is what I say every morning when I get on here! At the time of your post I was laying in bed listening to the "Wolf Pack" howling. That is what we call our dogs when they do that! Who would've thought that Border Collies are such howlers? They even get the beagle and terriers going! Cant wait until the parrots learn

Thanks for that pic Raimnel...it is so clear even at 8x10...cant wait to get it in a frame and stand it up on the printer...if I can get that cleared off! It is SUNNY this morning!!!!

Gosh I like that little guy! I feel just like that when the sun shines...I am with you Becky--the gray days make my mood gray after a while! I was pretty crabby with my client yesterday...just couldnt listen to it over and over ya know? Still havent brought the bator in to try...didnt get that racoon last night again either!
somad.gif
She got my two lame ducks, an EE and now my one legged chicken Tiny Tim! That really ticks me off! I think I found where she goes though and if I can get the outside cat locked up tonight I will have her AND her babies! Dont mess with my animals!!!

Bigz tell Jim that the guineas and chicks are doing great! I was a little nervous about putting them all back in the box to go home. They were "supposed" to have the rabbit kennel but you people didnt take all those bunnies!!!
bun.gif
All made it safe though...even the little quail--thanks to Fordmommy lending me another crate!

OK--I guess I really should go and do SOMETHING...like maybe get dressed?

All I seem to be able to do lately and it is addicting! What did I ever do before I had a computer? (oh yeah, my house was clean...) Later all, enjoy your day! Terri O

OK TO going after you to break the chain. That would be hilarious if the parrots would start howling! In Spanish of course. Decided to pick up the shrubbery trimmings with the wheelbarrow instead of the tractor/trailer. Call me Roger. [Amy knows] Only 3 loads, big wheelbarrow! Took another walkabout to look for maple trees to transplant only found one that met my specs. Had shorts on will have to dress up to hunt for more. Becky care to guess where I planted it? Grrr!!! Moved the big kids water and feeder outside and cut the SLW's loose in the coop and run. Their having a ball inspecting the coop and trying out their wings in the run. Peaches is going to lose weight going from the hens to the coop checking on everyone. Got 8 eggs this AM one is beyond a doubt a double yolker. 3.033" in length and 1.982" in diameter.

Going out to do a little minor weeding then in to do dishes. No rest for Bonzo. Well maybe a little later.

raimnel, I don't know if it matters much, but you have a few mis-spelt names. I know it bothered you when I spelt your name wrong. "Terri O" and Bigzio's daughter, "Jennie".

The sun was out for a little while this morning!!! It's hiding at the moment though. Looks like I might get nice weather for my rummage sale this weekend. But there is a chance of thunder storms for Friday afternoon.

I got almost all set up last night. Just have to get the adult clothes hung up. Then we are set to open. Have a nice day everyone!

Gorgeous day outside!

I just got finished cleaning all the brooders for the morning (gosh, those Calls are getting big, aren't they babylady4?). I have the four new Runner ducklings that hatched yesterday moved into their own little brooder - I got 1 boy and 4 girls! First hatch this year where I actually got more girls than boys! I lost three eggs that died without pipping though - candled them this morning, and they look funky and have no movement.

The humidity's good, the temperature's good, and the ducklings that do hatch are all incredibly strong, so I'm sort of puzzled as to why I keep losing ducklings that are alive and moving around in the egg when I move them into the hatcher - the hathcer is getting scrubbed out well with bleach in between each hatch.

Anyways, I was looking all the ducklings over this morning to make sure everyone looks healthy and is growing (6 of the Runners are being picked up on Friday), and the little Calls are getting tail feathers! BLUE feathers!
big_smile.png

I wasn't sure if these babies would be Blue Pied or Blue Fawn Pied - I was really crossing my fingers for just plain Blue...and the feathers that are coming in are the prettiest powder blue! I'll finally have some blue (well, Blue Pied...) ducks in the flock!

Now I'm just crossing my fingers that at least one of them is a girl! I want more White Calls, and these babies had a White mamma, so they should be carrying a copy of the recessive white gene, and should produce a percentage of white ducklings if bred to my white drake.

fm you've got a deal! Right now looks like it could be grape, Black Raspberry, or Blueberry depends on what pans out or you'd prefer. OK sat for a few minutes and once again got the pics to the point of being a thumbnail code. Boils down to don't know how to copy, cut, paste to a post. L says she knows how to do it but just haven't had the time to sit down with my DA to hold my hand and do it. Sun is shining here. Much done more to go. Good luck on your sale fm!

You guys are making me hungry; and wanting to make some jam!

Annarie, I moved my ducks into my big dog kennel. I want to get my tile down before I move on to making a raised duck run. I'll have to get some pics of the baby I hatched out up, he has grey (I think what you guys call blue) feathers coming in. The other two are not starting to feather out yet, but I could have been keeping them too warm too.

No word yet on the shipped ducks (just to keep you updated).

Off to work at the cheese factory...... leaning strongly on staying home though!

I remember last time you posted a pic of him, I thought to myself that he looked like a Blue Bibbed - but I wasn't sure.

I'll get some new pictures of mine up later - they're 2 weeks old now (there are some 1 week old Runners in the brooder with them now too), so I'm starting to try to voice sex them already. Their voices could change anytime between 2 and 8 weeks old - girls say "QUACK!" and boys sound raspy like they have laryngitis. I want to hear some quacking!
