We weighed my little guy after the Packer game; he is 9lbs already, in 4 weeks

I think I would be more surprised if he didn't want to nurse EVERY 2 hours

Good luck with all the fosters. I really want to do that someday, when the kiddos get older. Probably won't be able to give them up though, and end up adopting. Annarie, found a new home for your GSD yet?

BL4, thanks for that yogurt recipe. Your method sounds nice and simple. I haven't tried yogurt yet because it always sounded like it needed lots of babysitting. Now I have 2 new recipes to try out.

Wish us luck, we're planning on processing extra roos tomorrow. FIL is coming out to help. DH has never done this; I always had to help pluck and gut my folk's birds, but I never had to do the actual deed. I figure about 15 birds, give or take. Should be interesting.

Anyone else having trouble with the site? I keep getting logged off every few minutes, very annoying.

I am in Oregon if some one needs me to pick up the ducks and hold them for a few days...

MY little cochin/frizzle/polish cross chick is doing ok.. but it seems to have gotten splay leg at 6 weeks.. or an injury..
I have it and mom in a large cage in their coop/run/stall area. The other three are a bit independent and fine with out her right now.
I have done the yarn, vet wrap/bandaid thing.. it seems to be helping, My barn owner checks every day and I get out there every 2 days or sooner if I can.
Has any one ever had a frizzle cochin bantam cross with a polish bantam and NOT get the feathers on the head?
I have two that seem to be turning out silver lace, I have a buff lace and a gold lace frizzle but they could be buff brahma bantam crossed with my RIP frizzle cochin bantam rooster.

Wow, yesterday was loooonnggggg.......... but exciting too! The open house was pretty cool, the school had the parents go through their kids schedule. Every class was 10 minutes long, and each teacher explained the class and so on. It was really nice to get to meet your kids teachers right away at the beginning of the year and to see how the day would go for your kids.

Sleeping Beauty needs to rise and shine so I better run. Later everyone!!!!

Annarie I hate cute kittens I always want to keep them. Amyable sounds like your doing a good job on the nutrition delivery. Every 2 hours Ugh! For about 3 days now we've been hearing one of the babies making a new noise. This morning I saw it happen. Peatwo gets up on the stick I put in the brooder flaps his wings stretches his neck and tries to crow. Man it's funny! Sounds like Btwo is strangling him. He's going to look a lot like his father his breast feathers are the same reddish brown along with some of his saddle feathers. Btwo has a few black feathers here and there. Was going to go to the woods today but it looks like rain so I'm headed out to pick up the part for my auger [hope its the right one] and to pick up some tubafores to build a frame to put the brooder box up level with the window on the back porch. And I want to cut a couple of holes in the brooder so they can see outside I have some plexiglass for windows. Then when they get moved to the coop I'll but a box on it with lettuce this winter. Never tried that before hope it works!

Good morning to all! All this talk about babies! I'm kinda jealous! Human babies and kittens and puppies and chickies. I promised myself I wouldn't hatch out anything else until February. Congrats on all the new babies and sorry for all the other losses.

Another glorious morning! Even if it is a little chilly. I had some sugar-free hot coco for breakfast. That makes it all better.

Well-today the youngest starts school again. 3 half days for him a week. (It's better than nothing!!!!) But I get lonely when they are gone. It all has to do with being an only child until I was 12. And having a mother,who was a single parten and who was never around much anyway. I hate being alone.

Guess I'll just have to hang out in the coop with my friends!

Today I need to get the rest of my tomatoes done. They keep calling to me....."Please can me! PLEASE can me!!!!!"

I better ablidge today before they rot! I'll have to pick more in a day or two also.

Hope all the babies are doing well.
Well I didn't tell the girls yet. They didn't venture down to the barn yesterday so I thought I would put it off alittle longer. That's just my way of being a coward alittle longer. Pluging away at homework today. The second week always seems easier than the first. It's like I have to get back into school mode again. Oh also my quail crowed for the first time yesterday. What an interesting sound. They are funny little creatures. Forget they are there sometimes, they are so quiet. Ok I'm off. TT4N

Good Day Before Fall Everyone! I like mix master too! QCC sounds too stuffy! Peatwo now likes when I'm there to witness his prowess. 5:15 he tried to crow and I walked back there and he looked at me and did it 3 more times. All I could do is tell him what a good boy he was and laugh! Man it's funny! Btwo stands right there and looks at him like wow what a stud.

Definitely heading into the woods this morning. Cool and calm just how I like it. Think today will just be dropping and dragging, have several smaller trees that I need to get out of my way. Rain is supposed to move in then I'll hide in the shed and cut up and pound together the lumber for stand for the brooder box. Would like to get up north this weekend but don't know yet. Need to get the water out of the camper before it freezes and need to fish. We'll see. It's also Fall Ride weekend don't get much sleep due to the drag racing at bar time. Have a good one!
