Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Good morning all!
WIndy, windy windy...
I will try to get out to work with the client horses today, if the rain and wind let up a tad.
I may (hope hope hope) get a part time job at a local resturant, I love it, and it has some of my fav foods!.
I hope the weather co-operates so I can bring my niece out to the farm so she can rob me of my money, doing "chicken chores".
I am jonesing to go do something horsey, there is a benefit show tomorrow I KNOW I can't go to...
the week after that is a camp out/sleep over at Gibbs lake and a scavenger hunt on horse back!!!
That I am going to.
well time to get some coffee..

Not such a good morning today. Yesterday the ditch next to the house was full full and expected to wake up with water in the yard. there's a river rolling through it. Had a VA appointment this morning and was going to decide wheather or not to go up north when I got back. They were closing off Hwy 173 and 54 was already closed think it was Mitch talking about Warrens well forget it. The water is up to floor joists in the crawl space. Had to move the water softener to plug it in. The water softener is on my list to move onto the back porch for access to the crawl space. Guess what it just made the top of the list. I went to move it and heard the plywood cracking under it and then it went through into the crawlspace. Nothing damaged. So we're not going up north and I'm going to be be on flood alert while trying to at the sump pumps. Hope you all are having a better day!

Windy here too. Glad it's everywhere, we always seem to be so windy. Guess that's why they put the windmills here.

Bl4- So sorry to hear about you niece. Glad that she is doing ok and hoping she has a quick and painless recovery.
DrH- That sucks! Sorry to hear about your water issues! I was wondering last night when they were showing the news about how much your area got, how you were doing. We got about a half inch at most. But is it ever cold today.
Well my little quail is doing good. I decided on wed to build him is own place. DH laughed and good luck. HA! proved him wrong. I don't need him! HAHA! I made a very nice(if I do say so myself) 2x2 hutch. I am going to try and get him a girlfriend or 2, but until them he has the place all to himself. I used scrap lumber from around the house and two picture frames with wire inbetween for the door. It helps have a contractor for a husband though. I guess watching him all these years I picked something up. After I was all done I showed him and he was actually impressed. Of course picked it apart too.

That's just him though. This was the first thing I have ever built so I'm pretty proud. Guess I'll be building the next coop.

Oh, yeah it probably would, but I'll put hay in there and also a dusting area. He isn't in there yet, still in the house. I'll wait until tomorrow to put him in. His head is scabbed over but I want to make sure. I still have to make a "nesting box" for him. Basically just a box with a hole cut in so he can hide in it. The other two don't seem to mind the wire floor, but I have the same set up for them. Lots of places to rest their widdle feet.

The hay helps too. Makes it more solid.

Anyone looking for some lake front property? Actually their own island. Now's your chance. Seller is motivated! About 2 more inches till the carpets are wet. It took all day to rise another inch and a half so I think we'll be Otay. BFF came over and helped get the extra pump set up and dig a ditch for run off. It's no wonder I love the man! Gonna be a long night!

Our creek is flooded again but doesn't reach the house - thank God the lady built it on a little hill. Just unreal, the rain this year.

Dr. H! I am so sorry!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I know this does not help, but thankfully that rain was NOT SNOW! We would have the State shut down completely.....

Niece is doing well! Three pins in the upper arm bone, surgery went well, and she was having fun with the call button by yesterday morning. She is home now and loving the royal treatment. Cast will be put put on and the end of the week, they are waiting for the swelling to go down first. After 5 weeks they will remove the pins and she should be good to go.

We finally managed to get the ENTIRE story out of both kids. They were running and jumping off the bike ramp and that is how she fell.

Thinking about going to the Oktoberfest in Appleton tomorrow......

Enjoy the evening everyone! Have fun at Portage tomorrow!!!
