Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

CFC927 Our chickens stay in also, no way would they chill those little butts. I didn't think it would snow here either but it started about 5pm and going strong now. Terri I don't know if that's good or not. When your expecting snow and get rain all day. I hope you don't get freezing rain later tonight. Stay warm and try to get the chill out of your bones. Good night all.

Had fried chicken drumsticks tonight, with julienne potatos, sweet corn. YUM.

Temp just 32 here and it's snowing. Big poofy flakes (the best kind). Wind hasn't kicked up yet, but tomorrow it will hit us.

Stay warm everyone!

We stayed home tonight, watched a bad Roger Corman movie called "The Wasp Woman". WOW what a bad B-Movie!! fun fun!!
And "Frontier Stew".. venison, carrots, potatoes, onion, on a beef soup base.
YUM YUM!!

Glad your getting a lot of eggs we got 3 1/2 yesterday and it's becoming the norm. Looks like the chains are going on the tractor before any attempt to push it. I see by the map it's gonna quit but the wind is still pretty nas T. About a foot out there now plus some deeper drifts. Will have to get a pic of the Jeep it looks pretty cool. WCc don't know why but a lot of good movies on yesterday 1941 started it out. Love to watch the old B movies. Miss Mystery Science Theater, always some really bad ones on there. TO hope that chimney gets finished soon with the subzero weather ahead there's nothing like a wood stove. bl4 white knuckle driving is hard on the body if the plow truck was having hard time you know it's bad. Glad we didn't get the freezing rain. Bet it was funny watching those silly ducks trying to bathe on the ice! Looks like L will have to go get milk after the driveway is clear but there's enough beer for todays game. Bigz your doin it wrong now you have to go farther for a replentishment.
hmm.png
Hope you all stay safe out there cleaning up this mess. Think the heavy clothes wil be on today.

It's still snowing here. We did get some freezing rain last night, but not too much. TONS of snow. Even church and Sunday school are canceled today for us. It will be a while before we get out.

And Dr Ha Ha...I just can't stop dancing yet. We need a good base before they'll open those trails. Sorry.

Cedar Post) Is bear good eating? I've never had it. Although i've never had a lot of wild things (like elk, turkey, bear, etc.) Just really deer. And rabbit/squirrel.

The strog was DELISH. The venison was sooo tender, in my hubby's words "it's at LEAST as tender as the noodles!" Sucess!
DrH) Yeah, hubby butchered the deer and I don't think he tried to get a scrap of silverskin off. I got the cubed meat bag and almost every piece had a glimmery silverskin on one side. No way was I going to try and pull it off 1/2" chunks of meat, so I just floated them in the water (to get off any misc hair) and threw em in the crock pot! Glad I didn't waste my time, as that meat was WAY tender.

Hubby went out at 4am this morning, he woke up late and was a half hour late though

He said it wasn't a problem, as the snow is coming down so lightly that it wasn't too big of a deal. Whew! Hes on his way home now, and he's going to go back later as accumilation is slow going. I asked him if he wanted breakfast food or leftovers and he said "Leftovers!" haha. Glad I can cook venison well!

Glad I can cook well in general. *Whispering* His mom isn't a very great cook, so I think he's happy just to have juicy meat! She would cook porkchops until you could break a window with them! I remember the first time I made him stuffed porkchops. He said "Is pork suppossed to be this juicy and tender?" HA! Poor boy.

I lost my local egg supplier, so I've been buying nasty grocery store eggs. You guys are making me jealous

FM almost 2 dozen eggs a day, holy cow!! I'd be fine with a dozen a week! lol.

Went to Penzey's spices last night with the hubby, he's never been there. That man LOVES spices. He was in heaven! We bought his mom's gift and a small one for my girlfriend, but he also wanted to try a bunch of spices. He's trying them out for his venison jerky. He grabbed all these rubs, but they have a venison sausage one! I showed it to him and he said "Oh! Get that too!" lol. Anyone else shop at penzey's? I love how fresh their spices are! I love some of their mixes too! Hubby's favorite is English Prime Rib Rub.

I wish a spice shop was closer to me! I love them too and use a ton. When I cook at T-pines (retirement center) they always ask me what I put in whatever I have made. The regular cook is a "farm cook" type...get it on the table, who cares what it looks like, it fills the void! (eat and shut up!) I like stuff to look good and have a little more depth of flavor! Makes cooking and eating fun for me! THat venison rub sounds interesting Raiquee!
I slept until nearly 10 this morning!!! I was up for about 3 1/2 hours last night listening to the wind and thinking about all sorts of stuff that didnt let me sleep! I just hate when that happens. I kept looking at the clock and it was an hour later each time. After DH got up I fell asleep so soundly and dreamed about the county fair and DH building a house but it only had 2 walls and was way up in the air above the fair grounds...really strange. SO he is outside "playing in the snow" not sure if he has the blower or the skid loader going...wait--sounds like the blower. We didnt get so much here--maybe 6 to 8. I think there is quite a bit of ice underneath though! The wind was what kept me awake last night I think--blowing and blowing! I was thinking about the poor wet horses and their frozen coats! I hope they didnt shiver too bad...I think blankets are in order for the below 0 temps tonight though!
Well, everyone be cautious in their snowy pursuits today! DH just came in and said the neighbors' dog was running up and down the road...guess I have to take a walk...later all! Terri O

Raiquee, bear isn't that bad to eat. You have to make sure and get the fat off the meat, I don't eat all of it. Usually mix it with my deer meat and have it processed. By itself it is kinda like beef.
I hope everyone is weathering the storm ok. Don't mind the snow

but shut the wind off

Had some minor issues with the coop, but got them buttoned up pretty quickly. Had to dig our cat ferb out. Couldn't find him last night, but this morning it was easy enough to find him meowing when he heard the door close..LOL Brought him in, let him warm up a little, and DW spoiled him a bit. He did pretty good hunkering down in his blankets in the cat house last night, but he got drifted over. Couldn't have been too bad, he came out purring LOL.

Kids are praying it keeps blowing, they really want a "Snow Day" tomorrow. I have a feeling they are going to be a little disappointed in the morning....

Stay safe and Warm all! Lord knows we are!
