Welcome Magoo!

We are all friendly people on here, so stick around for awhile! You guys sound like me and my DH. We want to move from our less than an acre to something bigger! I am not sure how big yet, I guess as big as we can afford! lol.

Well didn't snap a pictures of my duckies cause me and Hubby went house shopping! Aka driving in the country! We found one that looked way out of price, and another on 35 acres that was a fix me up but not too shabby. Now is the fun of trying to find them online, cause they don't include those wonderful sheets anymore on the danged sign! Sheesh! We also saw one that was on 8.8 acres had a pole barn, shed and the house had an indoor pool! Only 10 minutes from our place, wanted 545k.

LITTLE out of our price range!!! Houses are so much harder to shop for, they have them placed EVERYWHERE. Why can't they just post all the houses for sale on one site? Make it easy...

Me and Hubby have a lot of new year resolutions. One of which is to move. Another is to have careers (should be easy for me, harder for him!) and another is to have this baby! (That's a resolution I can't miss!)

What's your resolutions?

Go to "home search", WI, then refresh the page, for some reason it doesnt update. Then choose your county, price range, bedrooms etc. There are so many out there. We actually found some willing to do Contract for deed as well!

Good luck in your search! I love house shopping online. I just do it randomly to see whats out there sometimes!

My husband and I are insurance adjusters, so we dont have to make the same drive everyday to work. So we figured we could move wherever we wanted! We work all over the US and usually within MN, WI, IA, ND, and SD most of the time.

We were so lucky to find this place. We actually bought a cabin and are making it a year round home! We have already turned the screen season porch into a year round livingroom/den. We basically get to finish the house our way, and are excited to do so. My husband was a contractor for 20 years before we got into the insurance adjusting thing, so we buy the materials and we work on it together. It has been great!

magoochie! Great looking cats, they will make pretty babies. How fun to have kittens! Makes me want another cat, but DH would kill me. Have two already.

My resolution for the year is to 1. get in shape, that is not in "a shape" but in shape.

Joke between me and DH and 2 to get better organized. Life has been so stressful, that I have been sick twice in the last two months and am starting to forget things. Like dessert for chrismas dinner!

Good thing I made cookies the night before so I had something. And as far as getting sick, First time in 10 years!! Sick right before turkey day and again now. Gosh I hate it. This time it's a sinius cold. DH is going to help me acheive the second and says nothing about the first one. Smart man.

Well everyone have a very wonderful and safe NEW YEAR!! May you bring in the new year with happiness and joy!

I also hope to get into better shape this year. And yes, I know ROUND is a shape.

But not the one I'm going for! HAHA

Just gonna start slow on the treadmill every day or two and not overdo it. Would be bad to get hurt or hate doing it before i even get started.

Good luck to everyone and their resolutions!

Got the worst coop cleaned today, yuk, its an old concrete milk house, gets wet alot comes up through the floor, its the one coop that i can't do deep litter in, so lot of stall dry and a good layer of shavings, the Ga Noi are happy again

Magoochie, So many friendly people on the " cheeseheads" site.
Starting to think about a garden this year. It's been a while since I have planted one and am looking forward to fresh food. I know so many of you have your orders in and all planned out

. What are the best catalogs to request? We took down a few trees this fall and will have lots of sunshine for our garden. Hope DH will help me with it, my knees aren't to great. I got injections in them 2 years ago and that really helped a lot, before that wasn't able to sit or sleep for very long. The injections were made from the combs of chickens

How cool is that?
BBL have a great time on your date w/o kids

Just wanted to pop in quick - I'm planning a move into Baraboo (that's right - IN West Baraboo, where I'm not going to be able to have any ducks or chickens
sad.png
Just for the next year and a half, then I'm building my OWN place on 5 or 6 acres). My younger sisters will take over the more easily manageable birds like the Calls, Cochins, and a few Indian Runners and Hookbills, and I'll steal some eggs periodically, take them home, hatch them, and then return them once they start getting big and stinky. That's the plan anyways. We'll see how it works. I'm not actually, officially moving for at least another 2-4 months (definitely by May 10th, if not before then), but I need to figure out what I'm doing with all these animals NOW. I'm only allowed to take one cat and one dog with me - luckily, I FINALLY found a home for that German Shepherd that's been making my life so miserable. The lady has another male Shepherd that's terminally ill right now, so - as terrible as this sounds - we're waiting for him to pass on, and then she's going to take my boy. So, I'll only have one dog, and I'll have to leave one cat behind...which will be okay. My one cat has been with me through 5 moves now, the other one is afraid of his own shadow and has lived in my mother's house his whole life. He'd have a heart attack if I tried to move him.

That doesn't mean I won't be posting here in a flurry of excitement when the first Call duck eggs appear this spring. I've been checking or having someone else check for me every day, even though the ducks usually don't start laying until mid-February!

Good New Year Morning All! First post of the new year! I'm special! Annarie sounds like your going through some changes in your life. Glad your checking in at least once in awhile. fm ya know we all miss you on here hope things are OK! Worry about you guys often. Susie "J" didn't know that about the combs, pretty weird. I use a 3 gal. plastic pail to sit on to weed the garden works pretty good no kneeling. Or maybe an old milking stool would work. I really enjoy our garden, still like playing in the dirt I guess. Windy out there this AM. Looks like the heat lamps will be plugged back in too. No resolutions here, therefore no guilt. The kids are really chowing down with their winter feeding but they really liked being out on the exposed grass these last few days. Felt so sorry for Peatwo yesterday standing there in belly deep snow afraid to come out of it waiting for me to save him. Maybe that will cool his jets a bit. I doubt it. Bigz I know you would help out if you were closer that's the way things work. Thanks for the thought! Told the BFF he was gonna help me with the bathroom when it comes time. Need a fast turn around on that. This month is rerouting the plumbing for the water softener. Getting real tired of the water quality and I know L is really tired of it even though she doesn't say anything. Then gonna get all the things for the bathroom remodel. Have a great first day of the year!
