Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Ok thanks for the added information. I am willing to have my birds tested but I CAN'T have anything with my address or people coming to inspect my house because my chickens are technically illegal. I got them after I was told by multiple sources that they were allowed and then found out the aren't unless I get written permission from the chief of police and I tried but they kept making me jump through hoops. I did everything they asked and then they said I needed written permission along with names, addresses, and phone numbers from ALL of my neighbors. Well I live near many elderly people that are never home or don't answer their doors and after trying for over a month to get in contact with them I gave up and renovated my basement into an indoor chicken coop. It was MUCH more costly and a lot more work but I think it's worth it. I plan to attempt to get permission again in the Spring but for now I have to "hide" them. I want to move them to outdoor coops at my grandmothers land but I don't have enough time or money to run there and back everyday to check on them so it would be a pain.

testing will put your name on paper but the only way it will come to light is if your tester reports you, I personally do not, your chickens are between you and your neigbors, the ID works the same way, you will not be reported

GothChick) I am an illegal fowl keeper too! Not that I am proud of it, but I found it simply STUPID that we are surrounded by a farming community but the village holding 900 people can't have them. I have them outside in a dog pen, and all our neighbors to see. We have had them since August, and I have heard not a thing. I think people assume we can keep livestock in our village, cause if you go up the road theres a huge farm with cattle! We did have a neighbor come over and ask "So, why do you guys have ducks?" and DH explained why, and they just said "Oh, ok. We though you were getting a dog! But...then we saw ducks." lol. We plan on moving within a few years (maybe even this year!) and we will go to a place where I can have livestock. We asked our neighbors they are closest too, but no one else. We haven't had one complaint! I think the neighbors like to watch them

Oh well. Me and hubby found another house (up in Sheboygen) 5 bedroom, on 3 acres! The house is kinda rough, not structurally it's just dated. Hubby really wants to go out and see it. Theres a pole barn on the lot too, and it's under 200k! Hubby says he'd rather buy a house that needs updating, because then I can make it mine.

He's too good for me! He knows how angry I have been in this house, as the in-laws still act like they own it. It's frustrating!

So we are gonna plan a day to go up and see this house as well as my dream house (

) so I am excitied. I feel like 2011 is going to be GOOD!

I usually use Realtor.com they don't get all the houses but they get the majority of them.

The site you sent really is cool though, my bro lives in the twin cities so I am now house hunting for him!

I love the whole mix of satelite pics and street maps with the houses pinpointed on the area!
