ODrH congrats on your ribbons with Charlie sounds like you've got a winner there. TO yes it is weird how they know what time it is. Same thing with the cats here. Boy do they hate daylight savings time!

Frenchtoast! Hope someone here can help you in your quest! Didn't do anymore than I had to yesterday. Just felt BLAH all day with this sinus crap. But I swear I'm gonna do something today.

I'll guess! Bengal kitty! I don't see the rosette pattern though....... but it does not look like a Toyger...... hmmm very cool looking cats on Jean's webpage! I have a cat that is spotted, but not with the rosettes in the pattern.

Thanks Dr. H. It was a painful 3 month process to complete, and I was taking Microbiology for one of those months! I would do it all again in a heartbeat though...... what you cannot see in the pic, is the pantry cabinet next to the fridge. All of it is a VAST improvement from the 6 cabinets we started with.

TO, I will do my best!

Jim, although that trip sounds amazing there is NO WAY I would be able to do that with 4 kids sitting at home! There is a trip out of Schiocton that looks promising on the Wolf.....

Babylady4 guessed right! He is a 4 month old Marble Bengal kitten. His color and "glitter" will develop more as he ages. He is much more orange in person but it was night and the lighting threw off his coat color. Here is a pic I just found on google but it's basically what he will look like as an adult, but more masculine and he has more of the asian leopard cat face. I guess the breeder said he is going to be HUGE based on his parents and current growth pattern.

Yup--that is what I was gonna guess too! My neighbor breeds them for show. He has one that I just LOVE! The gold in the coat is so striking--and the personality! WOW! I have a run of the mill cat that looks like yours (in that pic anyhow) He is such a sweety but definitely not a Bengal!
Congrats on the wins with Charlie! Boy we have cat, poultry, dog and horse showfolks here! THat's dedication!

Cinlady and I are planning to meet this coming week--cant wait! Always fun to meet another of like mind! The weather is supposed to cooperate this week too! Can you believe it? Near to 50 towards the end of the week...I will wait to see it...dont trust those weather guys! It will be nice to melt the glacier that has become my dooryard though...I am NOT looking forward to mud season however! My floors are just looking pretty good...I think the dogs will be happy to get out in the kennel again--I know that cats will be elated to be able to travel the house without being chased!

We had the first of our new steer last night...DH cooked the steaks a little too done for my liking. Good flavor though...I have some left over so that is my lunch for today. Maybe sizzled up with a few mushrooms? MMMMM! Revamping the incubator today...gotta see what's in those eggs! THanks for the advice on setting the eggs Jim. I was wondering how I was going to do that! Duh....I was surprised that the guinea eggs take so much longer to hatch!

good morning, I have a question before it slips my mind..

??? I put two eggs into the bator yesterday to see if they are fertile,, I never bothered doing this before,, anyhoo, how log do I have to wait before the bullseye is clearly visible ???
Or , am I doing it all wrong anyhow?

I often wondered about people who sell eggs on ebay etc who claim that their eggs are 100% fertile.. with all the eggs I hatch from my birds, and the girls and boys all running together,, I still get blanks..

Made Jamaican Jerk Pork last night.... and then the oldest DS left it out! So a slop egg omlette for lunch for me today. I figure I need all the food I can get to prepare for my water workout this afternoon!

TO I am LOVING this book! I can't wait to crank out a cake! Good thing it is the oldest son's birthday on Saturday!

Don't know why but it came to me with all you goose people out there that at the Bash maybe we could make some goose quill whistles for the kids. My uncle showed me how about 40+ years ago. If I'm remembering right you had to cut it about 3" long trim just enough off the end for air flow then cut along one side near the end to form the reed. I also remember that it didn't always work, the reed cut had to be just so. Anyone remember or know?

thanks, I will give the eggs as long as I can before I open them up.. I tried candling, but the shells are too dark..

I will grab a goose and see how many feathers he is willing to donate.. I assume you need wing or tail feathers.. something about the diameter of a drinking straw ?? I never heard of a goose whistle, is it anything like a wolf whistle ??

Not even close Jim but you keep practicing. Ya the larger diameter ones from wings or tail are the ticket. I looked online but haven't found it yet.

I have gone to a few swaps last year. One in Rhinelander and one in Shawno County???

I bought some Amauracana hatching eggs from someone in Appleton.

Whenever I do meet people with chickens I tell them about BYC and give them my username. Perhaps we met in passing ???

Anyway thanks for the Welcome.

Still looking for Black French Copper Marans, Blue Splash Marans, Cuckoo Marans and Lavender Silkie eggs or chicks. Will travel or will pay for shipped eggs.

I've got that hatching bug and an empty incubator. I have silkie and showgirl eggs if anyone is interested in a trade as well !!
