good morning..
the teacher came and picked up 2 doz eggs..now I am going to start saving those eggs for myself.. those hens all are laying large eggs. can hardly shut the carton..
I tested 2 eggs for fertility. one was a yes, the other was doubtful.. that's good enough for me for this time of the year..
the last goose egg in the bator is due today.. not looking good
BUT the geese are starting to lay again.. I hope they do not go and hide their eggs.. I found one in the hay stack right in plain view.
Annie told me this morning that she wants to bleach all 3 bators
I am glad that SHE wants to do it.. LOL
I am going to go ahead and set them all up for temp and humidity .. one is done already, 2 to go..
I have to find some door seal for the old 1202,, I put some on last year, but it is that soft white stuff for storm doors.. didn't hold up at all.. I might have to break down and order some from GQF unless somebody knows where I can get some of that hard black seal..
then I am going to work of the plastic egg holders.. I think I can modify some of them so that I can stack them in the bators.. If my theory is correct, I will be able to incubate an extra 18 doz in at least 2 of the bators.. that will come in handy when the guineas start to lay..
(18 plus 24 = 42) times 12= 504 eggs per bator times 2= 1008
plus 288= 1296 total for all 3 bators..
