I fixed up a dog kennel for chickens. It is two sections long and one section wide.. I drag it around with the tractor to fresh ground..

. I streched small diameter chicken wire over the top.. then I ran 2 foot high chicken wire all around the perimeter at ground level.. I had a fox squeeze in where the metal frames connect at the ground and form like a triangle..

I drapped a long tarp up the sides and over the top for shade and some wind protection.. that is where the main problem came in.. the tarp filled with rain water and leaned the sides toward the center and the ceiling sagged,, a LOT.. I have to make some rafters so that the water runs off instead of collecting..

good morning all, I have not ventured outside yet. It just looks cold..

I am tossing the rest of the unhatched eggs today..

gotta empty out the Blazer and go get feed this afternoon..

first will have to check with the Dr to see if it will be OK for me to lift feed sacks..

Hope the house hunting is over and you end up with what you wanted..

not much else for news or gossip.. later,,,,,,,,,

GOOD RAINY MORNING TO ALL!!!

I have a little dilemma....it turns out that one of my BEAUTIFUL silkies is a roo (i knew he was a roo the entire time but was in denial). I unfortunately cannot keep roos so he has to go. He is show quality bearded white roo and is a TINY little thing but already mating and of course crowing. He is about 5-6 months and I got him from a breeder in Mequon WI (Rubin Ranch...she has hundreds of silkies from Bobbi Porto and all kinds of top breeders).

I was wondering if the best thing to do is to sell him craigslist? - I cannot keep him for too long or I'll be in TROUBLE with the ciy

As always, THANK YOU!!!

I have a strong suspicion my cuddle little BO is a boy. so might be looking to add another one to keep my other baby ( 3 weeks) company. So if you have any young pullet layer breeds to sell... let me know!

Well hang in there with the up coming weather. Good Evening to all.

These are showgirls. A silkie with a necked neck. I've fallen in love with them. I also love the little bantam turkens. To me they look like little old men !!

Here are some more pictures of the showgirls.
